Thornton is a grade II listed property, built in the early 1800's. Centrally located on Chipping Campden High Street alongside other picturesque Cotswold stone houses, it was once the town's sweet shop.

Please see below for the additional cleaning and hygiene measures we have taken with regard to the COVID19 pandemic, as well as further information regarding refunds.

Chipping Campden is quintessentially English brimming with classic Cotswold stone architecture and nestled deep in stunning countryside. Along the High Street, you will find a diverse and rich collection of shops behind historic facades - gift shops, antique shops, pottery, jewellery, stoneware, tea shops, delicatessens, wine merchants and a French bakery. Once away from the town, Chipping Campden offers you a perfect base to explore the famous and charming Cotswold hill walks and villages.

Located close to Stratford, Cheltenham, Warwick, Leamington Spa and Worcester, there's plenty to do in the area. You can visit Stratford to see Shakespeare's houses (his birthplace, Anne Hathaway's Cottage & Garden, Nash's House, Mary Arden's Farm and Hall's Croft) and the famous Royal Shakespeare Company. You can go horse racing in Cheltenham (Gold Cup), drop in to visit Eastnor Castle or Chedworth Roman Villa before popping over to Warwick Castle to see a enactment, or you could simply walk or cycle in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Thornton has been sympathetically restored to a high standard and has all the charm and cosiness you would expect from a Cotswold property. The ground floor entrance takes you to a hallway with storage for coats and boots, The main bedroom is located on the ground floor for easy access and has a king sized bed, side tables, chest of draws and wardrobe. Next to this is the bathroom, a large glass shower cubicle, underfloor heating and sanitary ware with oak furniture and stone tiled walls and floor. Further down the hall, the lounge, with sisal flooring, has an inviting wood-burning stove as well as exposed Cotswold stone walls and oak beams. The kitchen, off the living room is fitted with oak units and complimented with granite worktop , 4 ring conduction hob, double gas oven and microwave. Thornton is gas centrally heated and FREE Wi-Fi is available. All electricity and gas is included. One well behaved dog is also welcome. Fire logs are not provided but are available from the local garage.

REFUNDS DURING THE COVID-9 PANDEMIC

PLEASE NOTE that if, following confirmation of your booking, there is a further government national/local lockdown which precludes us from legally hosting guests to our cottage on your booked dates, then we can offer a full refund. However, if you need to cancel for any other reason, then our usual cancellation policy will apply and we strongly advise you to take out your own travel insurance when booking.

Enhanced Cleaning Programme during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Please be assured, we have implemented all the necessary recommendations for effective cleaning and hygiene in our property.

We have thoroughly briefed our cleaner and provided her with all necessary cleaning materials and protective clothing.

All high touch surfaces (furniture, doorknobs, kitchen, bathroom surfaces etc.) will be cleaned and disinfected after each stay. Low touch surfaces (floors, blinds etc.) will be cleaned using hot water and detergent, then mopped or wiped down from one end of the surface to the other.

The following will be provided for our guests:

• Hand sanitiser and antibacterial hand washes

• Additional tissues and toilet rolls

• Antibacterial cleaners for guest use

We want you to feel safe and that all your needs cared for whilst you are our guest. If you have any further particular requirements, please let us know and we will be very happy to help.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send William (the owner) a message.

If William (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
