This charming, cosy one bedroomed cottage within Hay on Wye is a little gem, ideal for a solo traveller or for a romantic break for two.

It has been updated to provide a luxurious and wonderfully homely cottage for your break away.

Located in town for the convenience of restaurants and pubs and of course the book shops but within the Brecon Beacon National Park, so great access to fun outdoor activities.

The stylish and cosy sitting room has a Smart TV, DVD and Freesat. There is a wood burner for those cosy nights in and a basket of wood is provided during the colder months. There is also a modern well equipped kitchen with dining area.

Upstairs is a surprisingly spacious bedroom with a luxurious king size bed and a shower room.

PLEASE NOTE: the stairs to the first floor are open plan and fairly narrow. If you have limited mobility or are unsteady please ensure you are happy with the description before you book. If you require any further information please enquire further.

Outside the back door is a small courtyard area for bins where walking boots and wet weather gear can be stored. This area gains access via steep narrow steps on a shared pathway leading to a small garden with seating and BBQ. Again please note the narrow steep steps description to the garden!

Ideally located within the beautiful market town of Hay. Visit the Thursday morning market and sample the local produce. Stroll around the old town and visit one of the many coffee shops. A perfect base for walking, biking and canoeing on the pretty River Wye.

The cottage is yours to relax in and enjoy your break. A fenced and gated garden at the rear belongs to the cottage so you will have exclusive access, however it is accessed via a communal path.

There is information at the cottage of local interesting places for you to visit. There is complimentary wi-fi at the cottage and is subject to fair use and terms and conditions highlighted in the information folder in the cottage.

All bedding and towels are provided but if you are bringing a dog and there is any likelihood of them climbing on the bed please bring your own bedding. But inform us at the booking stage so housekeeping knows not to make up the bed. ANY dirty muddy marks on the bedding will be charged for.

There is no parking at the cottage but there is free parking within 150 meters. It is possible to stop outside the cottage to unload.

ALSO NOTE: the cottage is situated within the market town of Hay on Wye, this means there will be traffic noise.

NO smoking or vaping inside. If outside ensure the door is closed to ensure no ingress of smoke inside. Please pick up butts if any are found or the cottage smells smoky a charge will be levied.

Cleanliness is vital, please leave it as you found it. Please do not allow wet, dirty pets upstairs or on the furniture.

If bringing a pet please ensure we are made aware at the time of booking. If your dog is likely to climb on the bed, please bring your own bedding. Muddy marks will be charged for.

For all potential future guests, we would politely like to highlight that it clearly states in the description of the property that there is no parking at the cottage. Information about three free parking areas within 150m of the cottage are provided by email once booked. The communal path from the back door leading to the private secure garden is also mentioned within the property description.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mary & Jo (the owner) a message.

If Mary & Jo (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
