Carregywen farm house is a very large four bedroom traditional farm house set in a secluded location between the Cambrian Mountains and the Brecon Beacons, three miles from Builth Wells.
The house is set within over a hundred acres of private farm land, in a large private garden with lawns, wild flower area, barbeque and terrace, and has stunning views across the valley to the South-West. The house is next to a quiet farm yard, with no neighbours for half a mile.
The house sleeps eight people comfortably in three double bedrooms and one twin, with two en suite bathrooms, a main family bathroom, large open plan lounge-kitchen-diner with a cosy log fire (with all the wood you can burn included in the price), and secondary snug lounge for those that prefer some quiet time.
Ideal for walking, cycling, golfing, mountain biking, bird watching, day trips, star-gazing and more importantly relaxing! There is so much to do in the nearby area, to save you some time, we have listed over 3 weeks worth of day trips and activities you can do - there's something for everyone!
Further details
There is one pub within walking distance of the farm; the Prince Llewelyn Inn at Cilmery, it's about 30 minutes walk and we have provided copies of maps at the farmhouse so you can make your way through the fields.
The farm handbook which will be sent to you once you book contains lots more information about nearby pubs, restaurants and attractions.

Garden
The garden has a brick built barbecue which you are welcome to use , and also a round table and seating for 8. There are extra chairs available , and if you fancy a picnic, there's a picnic rug and also blankets in the front porch for you to use.
There is a small herb garden just outside the front of the farm house, do please feel free to help yourself. If you are there at the right time of year, there is also a large apple tree and lots of wild blackberry bushes in the garden and if you go for a walk then the farm has plenty of sloe bushes, the odd hazel tree and random apple trees – again, do please feel free to help yourself.
Carregywen is located on a quiet working farm, so you may see the occasional Landrover and horsebox driving through the farmyard, if you are lucky, you may get to see the farmers using the big green barn – they are really friendly and don't mind curious children (or adults!) if you want to investigate. If you are at the farm any time from mid February you will see hundreds and hundreds of beautiful spring lambs!
Wood burner, Heating and Hot Water
The farmhouse has a wood burner in the sitting room, all the wood for the burner is provided free of charge. The farmhouse doesn't have central heating, but an electric heater can be found in every room. The sitting room/dining room/kitchen is one open plan area and although there is an electric heater in there, once the log burner is going it gives out a tremendous heat and the problem can be controlling the heat once it's going! The trouble with the log burner is that you can't just turn it off! We always ensure the house is toasty warm on your arrival, so don't worry you won't be cold. Just in case you had any concerns though - we've added a hot water bottle to every bedroom to make sure you are ultra cosy at night!
Kitchen Equipment
The kitchen is well equipped and comes with a good variety of saucepans, frying pans, dishes, baking equipment, two fridges, a freezer, dishwasher (tablets are provided), a microwave and blender, tea pot, lots of tea towels, cling film, foil, plastic food bags and so on!
