From the owner

La Source Tranquille is our oasis of calm just steps from the centre of the small Picardie town of Mouy. Whilst you can relax in the peace of our fully enclosed garden you are just minutes walk from the village centre with its bakers and other shops. The town in perfectly located being just 25 minutes drive from the tourist attractions of Beauvais, Chantilly and Senlis. Paris is just one hours drive away, or you can walk to the train station to be at Paris Gare du Nord within 50 minutes. The beaches and coastal ports of the Pas de Calais are within two hours.

The gite has two large double bedrooms with a shower room on the first floor. Downstairs is a large open-plan living area with comfy sofas, a flatscreen TV with BluRay player and music system. There is a dining table with lovely views of the garden and a fully-equipped kitchen. There is also a downstairs cloakroom and cleaning cupboard. There is wifi access throughout.

The gite has its own private area of the garden which is not overlooked. There is a covered eating area, sunbeds as well as plenty of space for games like badminton and boules. There is a trampoline for the younger guest (and the young at heart!).

Cycling is a special attraction of Picardie, which almost always features in the Tour de France early stages. Mouy is excellently placed for cycling, with many routes centred on the town. We offer facilities for storing bicycles and for maintaining them.

Picardie offers many attractions, being the land of cathedrals. There is much history on offer from cathedral towns like Beauvais, Senlis, Arras and Amiens to First and Second world war sites like Compiegne, the Somme and Arras. There are attractions for children all within an hour like Parc Asterix and Disneyland Paris, and of course Paris itself just 60km away.

Minimum stay is two nights, but outside of July and August there is currently no specific arrival day so you can tailor your stay to suit you. We offer a 100€ discount for all complete week bookings outside of Jul/Aug.

All of our bookings are handled by Gites de France, who accept credit cards, so your booking is completely safe and guaranteed. A deposit is required on booking with the balance payable directly to Gites de France 4 weeks before your arrival.

There is an optional cleaning fee of 60€; if you are happy to leave the gite as you found it there is no charge.

Further details indoors

Our beautifully renovated gite has been awarded 4 épis from Gites de France and 4 stars from the local tourist office. It features top quality furnishings throughout including two large sofas in the living room from which to watch the 37" flat screen TV or something on the BluRay player with both French and UK channels. The kitchen features top of the range appliances including a large Smeg fridge freezer and Siemens oven and hob.

Upstairs the bedrooms are well equipped with one large double (160cm x 200cm), and one twin room (90cm x 200cm), which can be converted into one large double. The rooms both feature oak furniture from the UK, as well as ipod docks and feature arched windows. There are toilets on both floors plus a large shower on the first floor.

In the front of the gite is a table and chairs to enjoy a sun downer, and there is a large private area of the garden with table and chairs under an awning, along with sun loungers and a BBQ. The larger part of the garden features plenty for children to do, with a trampoline and football goal.

There is private parking, within the fully walled garden - you will be given a remote keyfob to open the gate for the duration of your stay. Next to the gite is a games room, with a table tennis table and baby football table for you to enjoy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Adrian (the owner) a message.

If Adrian (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
