From the owner

Ash Cottage is a superbly equipped and beautifully finished original stone cottage with roses around the door. A large inglenook fireplace with woodburner stove makes for cosy evenings. Flagstone floors and oak beams throughout add to the charm. The cottage is 4 star rated by Visit Wales and comfortably sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms. Centrally situated in the National Park with views of the hills this is an ideal base for walking,cycling and exploring. Well behaved dogs are very welcome.

A variety of hill walks start outside the front door. Ash cottage is in the village of Llangynidr, which has two pubs, one 3 minutes walk from the house, serving food, a village shop with post office and a garage. The river Usk and the Monmouth Canal flow through the village. Parking is outside the cottage on the quiet road. Wifi provided.

Great for hiking trips, rural/countryside retreats, cycling trips and visiting the many historic sights of Powys and South Wales. Abergavenny 12 miles, Brecon 9 miles and Crickhowell 4 miles.

A lovely, comfortable and authentic cottage in a peaceful, friendly village with a babbling Brook just a few metres away. Great views of the hills and a couple of great pubs close by.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Judith (the owner) a message.

If Judith (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
