Recently renovated, this stone built cottage with original beams has two double bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and a spacious open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen downstairs. Bathroom and kitchen are newly fitted with all mod cons. Situated in a peaceful, rural situation, the property is in the large grounds of the owners' house but has its own private terrace and garden overlooking the lovely countryside.

Ideal for nature lovers, there are plenty of walks straight from the door and many more in the local area. Bird and animal life are abundant. Miles of quiet roads and rolling hills make for beautiful and challenging bike rides. Secure cycle parking is available. Only 10 kilometres from Caussade, a typical French market town with all amenities; shops, weekly market, cinema, restaurants and bars. Nearby are the famous 'bastide' fortified towns, with medieval houses, castles, and quaint cobbled streets. And of course there are vineyards and farms to visit, not to mention restaurants serving the gastronomic delights of south west France.

For families and those who like a more active holiday there's a swimming lake with sandy beach and canoes and an open air swimming pool only 10 minutes drive away. Horse riding, cycle hire and canoe kayaking are available nearby. Within a couple of hours drive are the Pyrenees, the walled medieval city of Carcassonne and the coast.

Large open plan ground floor with newly fitted kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge area. On the first floor there is a double bedded and a twin-bedded room and separate bathroom with shower, washbasin, w.c. and towel dryer. Private terrace and garden with open views of the countryside and not overlooked. Table and chairs with sun umbrella and barbecue for outside dining.

There are plenty of walks directly from the doorstep and many marked footpaths in the area. There is an amazing variety of wildlife and birdlife to be seen and our trees, hedges and barns are home to greenfinch, blue tits, woodpeckers, owls and bats, to name but few. Summer visitors include nightingales, hoopoes, golden oriels and bee eaters. Our nearest neighbour lives approximately 500 metres away and is a fruit farmer, growing cherries, apricots, apples, plums, dessert grapes and melons, all of which are available to buy in season.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    If Heather (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
