Rockview House is a beautiful 3* Bord Fáilte Approved Holiday Home with an abundance of old world charm.This newly renovated cottage is situated in the village of Carracastle which is just outside Charlestown in county Mayo. Carracastle is situated midway between Charlestown and Ballaghaderreen (four miles from each) on the Mayo/Roscommon border.

The location has been described as the 'Gateway to the West' as counties Mayo, Sligo and Roscommon are all within a four mile radius and all three counties have an abundance of beautiful countryside, scenery and unique attractions for sightseeing and touring. County Galway is just a 30 minute drive away.

Rockview House is very spacious and decorative. It is finished to the highest standards and has three spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is an en-suite. The kitchen and living room are attractive, bright and comfortable with an log fire stove, wooden floors and all mod-cons.

The holiday home is surrounded by lush green lawns and gardens and is close to a church, a shop, post office, pub and a community centre.

The house can accommodate 6-7 people and is accessible for disabled people. A cot and a highchair are available while there is also a play area for kids with swings and a slide. Pets are welcome. A tackle/bait shed is also available for fishing enthusiasts and the nearby Lung River (Ballaghaderreen) and the Moy River (Ballina) offer a range of excellent fishing opportunities. Notable attractions in Mayo include Croagh Patrick, Clew Bay, The Great Western Greenway cycling and walking trail, Achill Island, Clare Island, Westport, Louisburgh and the nearby Knock Shrine. Mayo is very proud of the fact that it has more blue flag beaches than any other county in Ireland. A blue flag beach is a beach that has met all international criteria for safe access, clean water, pollution-free shores and water, sanitary facilities, lifeguards on duty, information centres and wheelchair access.

    How do damage deposits work?

    In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Nuala (the owner) a message.

    If Nuala (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
