Cliscro offers spectacular sea and mountain views from its vantage point above Loch Carloway. The house is set at the edge of the peaceful village of Borrowston. It has been tastefully renovated to offer you comfort and relaxation in its stunning setting. You are ideally placed to explore the island, with beautiful beaches and historic attractions within a few minutes drive. Whatever your pleasure; fishing, walking, surfing or cycling, it is an ideal base for your adventures. If you wish to stay closer to home there is plenty available to keep you entertained (a flat screen television, Wifi, board games, books, a DVD library and Ipod compatible CD system) so settle down in front of the log burning stove and relax. If you enjoy star gazing, the roof windows in the master bedroom often allow you to view the Milky Way while snuggled up in bed.

There is one comfortable double bedroom upstairs and a twin room downstairs. You may not need the central heating on in summer time but if you like it hot, then the traditional solid fuel stove in the kitchen will heat the radiators and do the trick . We will provide you with plenty of wood, coal or peat to keep you going.The dining room and living room boast south facing views over Loch Carloway. You may wish to try your hand at cooking on top of the traditional range but if not, don't worry as the modern kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and gas hob.

The patio table and four chairs will allow you to soak up your outside surroundings in comfort. Let us know if you like cooking in the great outdoors and we will make sure barbecue equipment is available for you.
The garden is fully enclosed so children can play outside happily. In spring, they may want to take a 50m stroll up the road to see the wee lambs at play. In summer it should be easy to spot salmon jumping in the loch and if you are lucky you may see an eagle soaring over head.

Why can't I call Eleanor (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Eleanor (the owner) a message.

If Eleanor (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
