From the owner

The house stands on a stunning location of grove of trees and bougainvillea and frangipani on a coral headland jutting out into the Indian Ocean. Beaches stretch out on either side. It has been a family house for 45 years. It is a combination of old style Swahili house with makooti roofing and Arab influence.

The accommodation is on two levels. It includes 5 double bedrooms, 3 (downstairs) with air conditioning, two upstairs with overhead fans. 3 showers, 1 bath, 4 toilets, sitting room and extensive verandas. There are mosquito nets in all the bedrooms, and a further shower, and foot bath, in the garden.

The 3 members of staff, a cook, laundry staff, gardener.The beach below the house is in the KWS Marine Park. The extensive coral reef can be visited, at low tide, in glass bottomed boats that sail from Casurina Point – a short walk down the beach.

There is easy access to Tsavo National Game Reserve by road from the house.

Malindi Township is an interesting mixture of Arab, Swahili and Colonial architecture. It is a busy thriving little town with much to offer in the way of shops, restaurants whose diversity of culinary styles reflect the very cosmopolitan nature of its residents. It radiates out from the old square on one side of which lies Malindi beach and the sea. This beach runs for about 14 km, where the body boarding and surfing can be excellent. Transport is very easy around the town and area by tuk-tuk. alindi.

From its airport, some 15 min from the house, are daily flights to and from Nairobi, Mombasa, Lamu, and other destinations. Windsurfing, kite-boarding, reef-walking, deep-sea fishing.

Guests will be greeted by three members of staff, the cook, room laundry and house care, and gardener. Who will look after you during your stay. They have 3 hours off in the afternoon. There are laundry baskets in each bathroom, where the clothes will be collected washed and returned to you ironed.

Why can't I call Vivienne (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Vivienne (the owner) a message.

If Vivienne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
