Pineapple Crossing is a sturdy cottage made of local wood and well equipped for guests. Set in a cultivated kitchen garden surrounded by rainforest it is neighbour to Birdwatchers Rainforest Cottage and could be used in conjunction to house groups of up to 10.

On its own it is ideal for a couple and can also accommodate up to two extra guests. Located down 30 steps from the parking spot at the entrance to the Wiatikubuli trail, it has a remote feel whilst only being 400 yards from the main road and a short walk to the shop and two local bars in the village of Sylvania

With pleasant outside living space the house can also be securely closed during rainstorms and the windows have nets in case of invasion by other rainforest residents such as grasshoppers, birds and butterflies. The Parrots can be heard and sometimes seen, and the dawn chorus is deafening.

Thanks so much for coming Heather. It was a joy to meet your troops and help them manage their time away from California in the very different rainforest environment. I was impressed with their eagerness to know the people and their culture. Dominicans as usual proved friendly and welcoming and helped them take back lasting memories.

So pleased you enjoyed the jacuzzi under the stars. Sylvania is a good place to visit many of the attractions. Some people spend a week with us at Home from home in Roseau and cover the snorkelling and Boiling Lake and Screws Spa and then go to the Rainforest to visit the East Coast, Kalinago territory and central hikes and waterfalls.

It really was a very wet period. The Rainforest usually has periods of sun between the showers but these guests face torrential downpours and the consequent inconsistent internet service. However We love having European guests who enjoy the wildlife and quiet as we do. It is not close to Roseau so one person needs to stay sober to drive home as the roads require concentration. That is why we are grateful to Fiona next door for providing meals to order and delivering them through the showers. The house has the advantage of being closer to the Kalinago territory and the airport and the East Coast waterfalls though. Thanks for coming our new German friends!

Why can't I call Tina (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Tina (the owner) a message.

If Tina (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
