Beautiful, lovingly renovated one bedroom cottage with scandinavian influenced design. Originally built in the 1880's for the mill workers in this small rural enclave, the cottage combines history with contemporary interiors and sits within amazing rolling countryside. Walk or cycle straight from the door. Restored to a high quality finish, including fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a cosy lounge with a feature fireplace and an airy double bedroom with solid oak floors and exposed beams. Perfect base for exploring Derbyshire or a weekend romantic getaway.

Amidst the wild birds and butterflies in the sunny south facing garden watching the sun go down with a glass of wine, or curled up in front of the fire on a winters eve the cottage is perfect all year round. Whether you are active or just want peace and quiet the cottage is a gateway to both.

Short distance away from historical houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, chic boutiques and antique shops of Ashbourne. Also near to Bakewell with bakeries selling its famous Bakewell tart and Carsington Water for outdoor sports including sailing, canoeing, cycling and walking. Hills and famous edges of Peak District National Park are within easy reach.

Wirksworth itself has a range of independent shops, antique shops, monthly farmers market, well known arts festival, cafes and pubs and narrow lanes and streets for exploring local heritage and architecture.

Wirksworth can be easily accessed from Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield and Manchester, as well as from the main motorways including the the M1. The nearest train station is Cromford, with the scenic train journey starting from Derby.

How do damage deposits work?

If Tiina (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
