Bobby's Nook is a ground floor apartment situated in the village of Selsley, close to Stroud. Purposely converted to holiday accommodation, Bobby's Nook is a cosy and comfortable home from home for just the two of you (with no height restricted areas or sloping ceilings). There is a level lawn area to the front, secluded garden (table, chairs, cushions, bench, loungers and barbecue also available) to the rear and safe onsite parking. The double bedroom has an ensuite with a walk in "rainfall" shower our guests say "you won't want to get out of"! The separate, modern kitchen is a good size, is very well equipped and has a rural view across fields, (the Arts and Crafts period Selsley church can be seen in winter). There are also extra table and chairs in the kitchen, in addition to those in the dining area - perfect for breakfast or a quick snack. The lounge area has a very comfortable sofa (from which to enjoy a fantastic view to the River Severn and Forest of Dean), Smart TV with Netflix, iPlayer etc and inbuilt DVD player, Radio/CD player and books, maps and games to borrow. There is also a desk with a charging station, where you can set up your laptop, recharge your phones, tablets etc. We provide a comprehensive Information Pack which is regularly reviewed and updated, detailing local amenities, suggested places to visit or eat, along with a large collection of tourist leaflets, which we will send to you as a pdf before arrival. A WiFi internet connection is also provided free of charge. We take pride in cleanliness and attention to detail. Towels, and kitchen and bedroom linen are provided. Previous guests have been impressed with how well equipped and provisioned the apartment is and have suggested we highlight this in our information so that you won't need to bring your own hairdryer or kitchen utensils! Also, plenty of storage space is provided to stow your belongings and hang your clothes. The surrounding countryside is peaceful with amazing views especially to the west (distant River Severn, Forest of Dean) giving awesome sunsets; relax... throw open the window blinds, and enjoy! Bobby's Nook is adjacent to the Cotswold Way and the attractive Selsley Circuit (5 miles of great variety and interest). Many beautiful, typically Cotswold, villages and bohemian Stroud, with its cafe culture and highly acclaimed Saturday farmers' market, much loved by many of our guests, are close by. There are also lots of events in the area including Cheltenham Gold Cup, Fairford Air Tattoo, Gloucestershire Steam Extravaganza, Bristol Balloon Fiesta and Gloucester Tall Ships. Good access to M5; visit Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Oxford, Stratford, Stonehenge, Blenheim Palace. If you are looking for a Cotswolds break with your loved one, whether energetically walking the Cotswold Way, cycle touring or simply relaxing, savour the delights of the Cotswolds' Stroud Valleys area with Bobby's Nook as your base. There are many ways to spend your days and something for everyone; perhaps a visit to the romantic Rococo Gardens in Painswick, the National Arboretum in Westonbirt., the National Trust Newark Park or Slimbridge Wetlands Wildlife Reserve. Ordnance Survey maps of the area are available to borrow. In summer, while away a relaxing evening with a barbeque in the garden whilst watching a beautiful sunset in the distance over the Forest of Dean. There are also many local pubs and restaurants to sample; our information pack contains some suggestions but if you wish to cook at 'home' the nearest supermarkets are just 1 mile away. We are happy to say that we have two pubs within walking distance: The Kings Head, Kings Stanley, is approximately 1 mile and Google Maps says this takes 18 minutes to walk, and our local pub, The Bell, Selsley which featured on BBC2's Restaurant Man after an extensive refurbishment a few years ago and serves delicious food and local beers. Unfortunately, this guest did not like the fact that we charged for the extensive damage they did to our property. His first review, entitled "Excellent stay" was 5 stars on VRBO Property No 1988508 which was the site the booking was made through and you can read it there. For convenience, I have copied and pasted the review at the foot of this response. So, yes, this is a revenge review and no, they won't be coming back as the apartment was left in an awful state: furniture rearranged in an attempt to conceal a large, dried in, red wine stain on the carpet, a ruined coffee table and kitchen left in a dirty condition, among other "gripes" I have about the stay of which we were not given the common courtesy of an apology. We hold a current AA accreditation for which we are regularly inspected so to say there is only cutlery and crockery for one course is laughable. The charge we make for the washing machine, now that energy costs are higher, is to avoid raising our prices for all guests, most of whom do not use the machine. We feel this is a fairer system. Nick Rowlerson's 5 star review entitled "Excellent stay" reads as follows: "Delightful property,peaceful spotlessly clean,well equipped kitchen,VERY comfortable bed, great bathroom Netflix was a great bonus. ,super views,we originally booked so we could attend RIAT airshow at RAF Fairford, the area is great especially Cirencester and the Roman museum is wonderful You will be spoilt for choice for pubs and restaurants, . My only gripe was the lack of a vacuum cleaner" This review is more in line with our other reviews from the average lovely, respectful, courteous people who have stayed at Bobby Nook.

Bobby's Nook is in a super location with wonderful views over the Severn estuary to the west, as you mention, and is a great, central base for the Cotswolds. It is good for long and short stays being a perfect size for two adults and has a very well equipped kitchen if you want to cook at home, however, there is a pub serving delicious food close by that all our guests (and ourselves!) love.

How do damage deposits work?
