From the owner

Can Lledo is totally unique - modern, spacious and open-plan, yet this farmhouse conversion still retains many original features. It is nestled in the Gavarres hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty, with views down to the Costa Brava that really take your breath away. Within these hills, the house is set in 54 acres, with truly beautiful gardens, a stunning infinity swimming pool, and an abundance of natural forest paths to explore. We have a tree house on the path down to one of our fields, and this begins a walk which takes about an hour to explore the trails within our land.

The interior is sleek and modern and all rooms have been thoughtfully furnished. Upstairs are 4 large double bedrooms, 3 of which have incredible panoramic windows and 1 boasts a terrace and chairs for a little more 'me' time. There is room with 2 bunk beds, which is perfect for children, and a couple of fold-down beds and cots should you need more beds. There is another double bedroom downstairs with optional twin beds. All bedrooms have modern ensuite bathrooms.

Living space includes a large open-plan kitchen with all mod cons and a dining room that seats12. There is a fully equipped utility room next to the kitchen. To make the most of the views, we have designed the house so that from the kitchen and dining room, you can look out of the enormous windows to take it in at all times.

A large yet cosy TV room adjoins the games room, and is the perfect place to chill out with a good dvd. The huge sofa can seat 10 people and there are bean bags and a rocking chair for extra relaxation. The games room is full of fun, with a ping pong table, table football, and darts to get competitive.

The open-plan kitchen is centred around a big island, and opens onto an beautiful stone-arched outdoor eating area. The table seats 12, and is perfect for al fresco dining overlooking the pool. There is also a coal barbeque which is ideal for cooking the Catalan dish of 'mar y montanya' - literally meaning 'sea and mountain' and referring to the way they combine both seafood and meat. Our favourites are large prawns and steak!

Website: Can Lledo has a private website giving further details of the house, the local area, things to do and further information about local amenities. At the time of booking, we can give you access to the website to help you plan your stay.

Activities: There are so many things to do in the area, although you may want to sit back and relax by the pool for the week at the house. We have a detailed information folder at the house listing everything there is to do in the area. Some examples of activities you can do are: kite surfing, windsurfing, fishing, sailing, diving, ballooning, golf cycling, cycling, horse riding, hiking, go karting, boat trips and kayaking.

Culture: There are many beautiful historic towns near Can Lledo and again we list all of these attractions on our website and also in our information folder. You might want to visit the stunning cathedral or walk the wall of the old town in Girona. You may want to drive for an hour south to Barcelona. There are various museums, the house and birth place of Salvador Dali, stunning beach coves and seaside towns such as Palafrugell, Sa Riera, Begur and Llafranc. Besalu bridge is worth a trip, as is Cadaques. The Pyrenees are breath taking on the drive from the airport up to Can Lledo, and only an hours drive away.

Extras: As well as our private website and information book with details and information on so many local attractions, we can also put you in touch with a number of people who might make your holiday more relaxing and special. Should you want to go out and leave the children, we have a great local babysitter; if you would like an evening of Catalan cuisine, we can organise a chef to come to the house; and if you feel like you need to unwind even further, we have a yoga teacher and massage therapists who can come to the house for individual classes and sessions.

How do damage deposits work?
