From the owner

This lovely brick and flint cottage is one of a terrace of three cottages, on a quiet country lane at the mid-point between the four villages of Great Walsingham, Wighton, Binham and Hindringham. It looks onto rolling fields in all directions and has a beautiful large wild garden of about half an acre, full of flowers. You cannot beat it for a rural retreat, about ten minutes' drive from the North Norfolk coast, with its glorious beaches. Downstairs is a newly-fitted kitchen, with electric twin oven, microwave, induction hob and dishwasher, and a separate pantry with fridge and freezer. The kitchen is open to the dining-room, which has a working fireplace and gives onto a paved south-facing terrace, with a table and benches for outdoor meals, all looking across the fields. Next to the dining room is a spacious sitting room with a new TV (can play Catch-up TV) and DVD player, wood-burning stove and i-pod dock.

Upstairs is a large bedroom with a superking-sized bed, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The two double bedrooms have incredible views over the fields behind the cottage, while the single bedroom looks out on the front garden. All the beds have electric blankets. The bathroom has a walk-in shower as well as a bath.

The brick outhouse behind the cottage has a garden room with a second fridge and a washing machine, as well as a wet-room which provides a useful second loo as well as another shower (great for washing children straight from the beach or muddy dogs).

The cottage is very much a family home and is furnished as such: it has a personal feel to it, and a stay here will feel like going to a friend's house. There are family paintings on the walls, and some of the furniture is antique, as are the Turkish kilims, but some things are more shabby.

There is wifi, and pets are welcome by arrangement, but no smoking inside the cottage please.

Bed linen and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. Firewood will be provided for visitors staying between October and April.

A week before arrival, you will be given the code to access the keys in a key safe on the gate. I will also send you Notes for Visitors about a week in advance , so you can get a better idea of what to bring and of things you might want to do or see during your holiday.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Henrietta (the owner) a message.

If Henrietta (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
