Get picked up in our fab all terrain vehicle and get taken on a jungle Safari to the top of the mountain half an hour from Byron Bay. 4WD access is required as it is a 3.6kms safari ride from the Car Park at the bottom of the mountain to reach the pinnacle of this most unique wilderness area SO ALL TRANSPORT when arriving to and leaving FROM THE PARKING AREA IS INCLUDED.

The Den is a small, cosy self- contained room under the North Wing of the "Treehouse". It has a Kitchenette, anteroom & toilet facilities and it has a view that is absolutely breathtaking.

Wake up to the Golden Sunrise over the vast ocean perched on top of a Mountain, at the end of a valley in a secret giant forest overlooking the majestic Pacific; is a place called 'Kinabalu', home of the Spirits. "The Treehouse" has been a name that guests have called & it has stuck. :)

The abode of peace & tranquility . . . .Surrounded by a Rainforest Sanctuary & Nature Reserve, you have absolute privacy and one of the most extraordinary locations of the area. This is a (nature) lovers retreat with pristine walks into old growth forest or swimming in the sparkling secluded waterfalls . . . . so make sure you bring your walking shoes.

Wireless broadband Internet is provided . .a much loved feature of the den is the outdoor shower where you can take in the breathtaking surrounds while you wash!! (An indoor shared private bathroom is available)

A 4 wheel drive is necessary to reach the 'Treehouse' so all transport to & from the Lodge is provided, if need be from the pick up & parking area at the bottom of the mountain. So if you intend to come to Byron just to savour the cosmopolitan atmosphere, you should stay in Byron Bay town. However transport to & from Byron Bay or the airport can be provided if you wish for $50.

This is both a lover's & NATURE LOVERS RETREAT. A generous breakfast is provided that includes various cereals, bacon, eggs, juice & fruits.

It has been quite an achievement to build this over the last 3 years . . now focused on the garden - still plenty to do. Come and plant some herbs if you have a green thumb!

Getting Around

A four wheel drive is necessary for you independence to & from the front. However once on the road you are close to beaches, supermarkets being no more that 15m drive. If you need to picked up from the airport the fee is $50 and the same from Byron Bay. Special tours may be available by request. Public transport is available from the nearest town of Billinudgel.

Other Things to Note

Please note that you have only exclusive use of the 'Den'. There is an entertainment facility in the room that includes a surround sound system, & a wide selection of documentaries & movies. .Also be aware this is a Rainforest Jungle home built on top of a mountain in the middle of totally wild nature. You enter this wonderful natural reality AT YOUR OWN RISK. There are no concrete pathways with railings just natural bush tracks.

Please be prepared with the appropriate attire, bring a torch, wet weather gear, walking shoes & make sure you are fit enough to negotiate this wild pristine natural environment.

First of all, being totally surrounded by the Nature Reserve you will have access to walks in old-growth forest, walks to the waterfall & depending on your level of fitness a cornucopia of natures gifts. You will have exclusive use of the den, however, you will generally have the run of the garden & household area. Most guests prefer to be left to their own devices, however, if there is a dinner, or meal being prepared by one of our visiting gourmet chefs you *may* be invited :)

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Robin (the owner) a message.

If Robin (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
