From the owner

Spacious flat just a few minutes walk from great restaurants, shopping centre and the beach. The flat is attached to the main house, but completely separate and self contained with its own small garden, as well as shared use of the swimming pool.

It includes:

• Bedroom with king-size bed and lots of wardrobe / cupboard space.

• Large lounge with a daybed which converts to either a second king-size bed or two singles. Cot also available on request. So it comfortably accommodates a family of 4 (+baby), or for a couple it offers loads of space.

• Bathroom with both shower and bath

• Kitchen / dining room with washing machine, microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, all utensils, and pine table / set of 4 chairs.

• Use of a Weber braai / bar-b-que unit

• Swimming pool (shared with the host family)

• TV / DSTV, Wifi

• Serviced daily

• Secure off road parking, with electric fence on perimeter wall, and alarm system for both flat and house.

• Small private garden with garden table and 2 chairs

We always enjoy having visitors, and are happy to interact as much or as little as our guests want.

Our household currently includes 1 dog (loving, exuberant golden retriever), 3 cats, 4 rabbits, and 5 tadpoles (caught by our children during a recent walk up a stream from the top of the neighbouring estate to a waterfall and tadpole pool.)

Hout Bay is surrounded by ocean and mountains, with lovely walks and views. Near the start of the dramatic Chapman’s Peak Drive is East Fort, which includes (they claim) the worlds oldest cannons still to be fired occasionally.

As well as the formal shopping centre, Hout Bay offers two great markets – the open air Sunday market 3 minutes walk from the flat, and the weekend Harbour market with a range of crafts and foods for everyone’s taste. Hout Bay Harbour also offers fishing trips and trips to seal island.

We are also just 100 meters from a MyCiti bus stop, with regular buses going direct to Cape Town and to the V&A Waterfront. This system also connects to Cape Town International Airport. The Red open-topped "Hop On-Hop Off" buses come through Hout Bay on their circular route via V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay, Clifton Beach, the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Hout Bay Harbour, "World of Birds”, and Constantia Nek, with the Acrobranch tree-top zip-lining adventure centre. A wine tour option is also offered. All these places are between 5 and 30 minutes drive from the flat.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Peter (the owner) a message.

If Peter (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
