Unlike other properties, our bungalow "Minster Chimes" is genuinely located close to the centre of the historic market town of Beverley. It is only 5 minutes’ walk to numerous shops, restaurants and public houses. There are good rail and bus links to Hull (City of Culture 2017), York and the Yorkshire coast. No need for a car!
Sleeps 4 in two double bedrooms with plenty of storage space. The sunny and spacious kitchen diner faces south with an enclosed pleasant garden area and patio with garden furniture. There is a cosy lounge with a gas fire and a spacious bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. Facilities include flat screen TV and DVD, WiFi, microwave oven, washing machine. A sofa bed in the dining area allows more flexibility in sleeping arrangements.
Coast/Beach:
Beverley is just 25 minutes from the East Yorkshire coast with its extensive golden sands. Bridlington is 35 minutes drive and offers two stunning beaches, with a picturesque, bustling harbour in the middle. The harbour is a hive of activity with fishing boats bringing in the day's catch, pleasure cruises along the heritage coast, speedboat rides across the bay and North Sea fishing expeditions on offer.
Travel:
Humberside is the closest commercial airport, 25 miles away.
From the west, the M62 brings you to the Humber Bridge, from the south the A15 brings you to the Humber Bridge (toll bridge). From there it is a 20 minute road journey to Beverley.
From the north the A1 links to the M62.
The North Sea Ferries port in Hull provides links with Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.
A car is not essential as the bungalow is within a 10 minute walk of bus and rail stations.

Beverley is an historic market town with a twice weekly market. It is home to two medieval churches, the magnificent Beverley Minster and the beautiful St Mary’s church. There is an excellent range of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as the larger supermarkets.
Restaurants within walking distance in Beverley include English, Italian, Indian, Thai, Japanese and of course fish and chips. The Michelin star restaurant “The Pipe and Glass” is just 20 minutes drive away. There are several small coffee houses and tea rooms. A well-known local public house, Nellies (properly known as the White Horse) is still lit by gas light.
Beverley holds several special events including the famous Beverley races (25 minutes walk), Early Music Festival, Folk Festival, Comedy Festival and Puppet Festival. There is a food festival, a Georgian festival and a Victorian weekend with the Christmas Market.
The East Riding Theatre is newly opened and there are numerous concerts and recitals held in the Minster, St Mary’s church and Toll Gavel church.
Beverley is close to a range of natural features and activities. For example: birdwatching at Bempton cliffs and Flamborough Head, beaches at Hornsea, Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. Golf courses on Beverley Westwood, Driffield, and Hessle. Walking along part of the Wolds Way, cycling, swimming at Beverley Leisure centre. Visit the exhibitions and artefacts in the Treasure House and art gallery in Beverley. All museums in Hull have free admission, for example the Wilberforce House, the Town Docks museum, Transport Museum and the Ferens Art Gallery. The Deep is one of the UK's most spectacular aquariums, with over 3500 fish, stunning marine life and plenty of activities for all the family. Stately homes worth visiting include Burton Agnes, Burton Constable, Sledmere House and the recently refurbished Sewerby Hall which also has a small zoo.

Notes on accommodation: There is off-road parking at the front of the property suitable for one, possibly 2 small cars. The property is centrally heated and is non-smoking. No pets are allowed. Outside: The enclosed, south facing garden has a patio set. When the weather is kind it is a real sun trap. There are colourful flowering shrubs and perennials in the surrounding borders. Utility Room: The utility room is home to the fridge freezer and washing machine. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen, towels and a hair-dryer are provided. The property is professionally cleaned after each rental.
