Coast/Beach:

Beverley is just 25 minutes from the East Yorkshire coast with its extensive golden sands. From the north the A1 links to the M62.

The North Sea Ferries port in Hull provides links with Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.

A car is not essential as the bungalow is within a 10 minute walk of bus and rail stations.

Distances:

Beverley to Hull 12 miles

Beverley to York 31 miles

Beverley to the coast (Hornsea) 25 minutes

Further Details:

Beverley is an historic market town with a twice weekly market. It is home to two medieval churches, the magnificent Beverley Minster and the beautiful St Mary’s church. There is an excellent range of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as the larger supermarkets.

Restaurants within walking distance in Beverley include English, Italian, Indian, Thai, Japanese and of course fish and chips. The Michelin star restaurant “The Pipe and Glass” is just 20 minutes drive away. There are several small coffee houses and tea rooms. A well-known local public house, Nellies (properly known as the White Horse) is still lit by gas light.

Beverley holds several special events including the famous Beverley races (25 minutes walk), Early Music Festival, Folk Festival, Comedy Festival and Puppet Festival. There is a food festival, a Georgian festival and a Victorian weekend with the Christmas Market.

The East Riding Theatre is newly opened and there are numerous concerts and recitals held in the Minster, St Mary’s church and Toll Gavel church.

Beverley is close to a range of natural features and activities. For example: birdwatching at Bempton cliffs and Flamborough Head, beaches at Hornsea, Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough.
