From the owner

Plover Cottage is over 200 years old and was completely refurbished in 2016. We were awarded a Gold Award by Quality in Tourism in 2016. We were also voted Most Dog Friendly Self Catering Cottage in the New Forest in 2018.

The cottage has two double bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor and kitchen, living room and dining area downstairs. We have a lovely courtyard garden which is a real sun trap and is ideal for eating breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.

The cottage is ideally located in the heart of Milford on Sea, five minutes walk from the beach and with cafes, shops and pubs in the village there is no need to venture further afield if you don't want to. The New Forest is the perfect place for walking, cycling and water sports such as paddle boarding and kayaking from the quay at Keyhaven. There are also several bird hides on the door step or alternatively you can just relax on the beaches and in the village of Milford on Sea.

We welcome one large or two small dogs.

Lovely cottage, great location

Lovely cottage in a great location. I stayed there with a friend and two small dogs. The cottage is well-equipped and was beautifully decorated for Christmas! I will happily stay there again.

Cosy cottage close to the sea

Cottage immaculate as always. Nicely equipped kitchen. Good shower after fab coastal walks. Comfy and warm, great village centre location. Only 8 mins from the sea. Brilliant for us and the dog.

Why can't I call Jane (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jane (the owner) a message.

If Jane (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
