Wheal Bush Annex is a brand new conversion of the annex to three old miners cottages that was completed in July 2009. Set in a quiet rural location it provides stunning accommodation for a wonderful peaceful break. When you arrive you will be greeted with a cream tea of homemade scones, jam & cornish clotted cream.

The property is located within a World Heritage Site within 200 yards of the Portreath to Devoran cycle track that meanders from coast to coast along an old mineral tramway. This offers gorgeous off road walking and cycling through glorious countryside all year round. The property is within a 10 minute drive of the popular beach at Porthtowan as well as being close to Chapel Porth and St Agnes beaches. These are some of the best surf beaches in the county.

The property is easy to get to being within a 3 minute drive of the A30 so is easily accessible. It is also within a 10-12 minute drive of both Truro and Falmouth should you fancy some retail therapy. The stunning scenery of St Ives with its wonderful restaurants, shops and galleries is a 20 minute drive away. Padstow is a similar distance away along the north coast.

The Annex was converted to a high specification in July 2009 giving modern yet charming accommodation. There are high beamed ceilings an exposed stone chimney breast which give a great character to the property. The conversion comprises of a double bedroom with built in wardrobe, an en suite shower room with modern fittings, a brand new built in kitchen and a large living/ dining area. There is room at the property for a travel cot for a baby / toddler.

The character of the property has been retained however the modern fittings give a luxurious feel to this rural retreat.

Externally there is off road parking and a large garden part of which is exclusively for the use of guests. Through the garden gate there is access to a bridlepath that runs alongside the property that leads to unspoilt woodlands and endless walks. We also have a garage in which guests are welcome to store bicyles (at their own risk) should they wish to bring their own bicycles with them. A BBQ is also available on request.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Karen (the owner) a message.

If Karen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
