Thank you for the review Liz. I take on board your comments and will look to replace the kingsize bed in the main room for next season. It is however, a sprung mattress with a topper on it and shouldn't be lopsided - but then again, I haven't actually slept on it personally.. Thanks for saying as news to me. With regards to the 'damp smell' in the bedrooms. There can be a slight problem with ventilation. Many guests not opening the top windows, even during the day. There aren't any humidity traps in the rooms - but I will look get some for the bedrooms. On a changeover, it is not always possible to detol the outer wall, but I will certainly be doing so from now on.
The wifi isn't charged for as a consequence of it being a communal hub setup. The property doesn't have a phone line and I am reluctant to put one in. There is a gazebo housing the wifi hub, with seating and plug in and a payphone also.. just a short distance from the cottage. I do suggest connecting from there and working back to the cottage. But, if the wifi doesn't then work from the conservatory - it is awkward! I think the growth of the next cottage property garden may now interfere with the link (I shall look into it all - as wifi has worked ok other years with the two hub options. There's a third hub option which may have a clearer line to the cottage now - I shall pursue that guests staying at present asap and report back on it!
May I just bring to your attention, as you may not be aware of this, but whilst we are on, etc.. and although I haven't made any claim on the damage deposit - I was worrying whether the washbasin in the main bedroom had been used for hair dying perhaps? (as the sink had such a dark 'tidemark' around it.. And there are a couple of dark stains on the bedroom carpet covered by a mat now..) And also, I have to say I was upset at my white Portuguese crochet bedspread, although quite neatly folded having a big blob on dried in makeup on it - which really ought to have been rinsed out when it happened.
