From the owner

Afallon is a solid 19th century farmhouse situated just outside the pretty seaside village of Aberdaron. It is 7 minute walk from the centre of the village, which has two pubs and several cafes, shops, and a lovely mile-long sandy beach with safe bathing. Access to the North Wales Coastal path is directly from the front door of Afallon without recourse to a vehicle. This is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and bird watching, seal and dolphin watching, and wonderful wild flowers in the late spring and summer are all on offer to the discerning visitor.

The accommodation is on three floors, plus a games room with pool table in the basement, for up to 14 people, plus two infants. There are 6 bedrooms, one king double, one super-king/twin, two triples with standard-sized single beds in large rooms, and a further two twin-bedded rooms on the second floor. There are several communal areas to allow people to enjoy different activities: a big sitting-room with large TV with Chromecast/DVD player, a piano and open fire, a second sitting-room/playroom with TV/DVD, puzzles, games, books, toys etc., as well as the wonderful garden room facing South West with 270 degree panoramic views of Cardigan Bay. From here, there are French doors on to a raised deck and a BBQ area in the corner of the lawn.

Parking is ample. There is a double garage, as well as a large drive in front of the house. For extra space, it is possible to drive right through the garage and park round the back of the house.

Afallon has full efficient central heating and is available to rent all year round. It is perfect for groups of walkers, as well as for family get-togethers across all ages. Dogs are welcome, as long as they don't go upstairs!

NB there is a £15 per night charge as a contribution towards the soaring cost of fuel between April 1st and September 30th, which I ask to be left on departure on the kitchen table or transferred by BACS (details on the notice board). During the winter months however there is a charge of 50% of usage, based on meter readings taken on arrival and departure. The cost per unit is published on the notice board in the dining room and I ask that cash is left on the table when you leave, or again a payment made by BACS.

NB I don't accept bookings for hen and stag weekends. Only parties of young professionals if over the age of 25.

There is a further set of keys by the back door. During your stay, I usually get in touch to make sure that you have found everything you need, are comfortable and are happy with everything.

Why can't I call Liz (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Liz (the owner) a message.

If Liz (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
