From the owner

Chestnut Cottage is a single storey, split level, centrally heated cottage with 3 steps between the living area and bedrooms and consists of open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with patio, garden and parking space. The kitchen includes electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and iron. There is a washing machine in an outbuilding.

The cottage is located in a beautiful, peaceful area of the countryside between the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley and is an excellent area for walking, cycling and sightseeing. Guests are welcome to walk around the farm.

Changeover day is flexible. Prices quoted for short breaks are based on a 3 night stay. Please enquire for prices of 4, 5 and 6 night stays or for long term stays. Oil central heating is free of charge but there is a charge for electricity. You may bring your own towels or I can provide them for a small charge.

I am astounded by your comments. I took you to the cottage on arrival, came into the cottage with you and showed you around. You made no unfavourable comments. I said to you, as I say to all my guests, "If you want anything or need to ask anything I am just next door." Our house joins the cottage but you did not come around with any complaints. Although I accept dogs there have not been any dogs or other animals in this cottage all year. This cottage has been booked almost continuously between March and August this year but I have had no other complaints. You left without paying for the electric or returning the key to me so I had no chance to get your comments on your holiday.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Sheila (the owner) a message.

If Sheila (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
