From the owner

Halteweidli is an elegant chalet in an absolutely unique setting. Set on the edge of a nature reserve, with stupendous views, it is 400m from the nearest house, at the end of a private lane.

The spacious chalet feels like home away from home: with an open fireplace, original art work on the walls, persian rugs on the floor, over 50 family games and a dressing up box for the children, over 1000 books in three languages, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is really nothing missing.

The chalet is set in it's own 2000m2 garden, and has two south facing terraces, equipped with garden furniture and a BBQ.

Each bedroom is differently furnished. One has an antique baby bed in it, all have stupendous views, and the children's room is on split levels to make it extra fun sleeping there. We can also provide a toddler's bed, high chairs and stair barriers on request.

The area is renown for it's walks and cross-country skiing, but is also in the heart of some of the best skiing in Switzerland. Not to speak of excursion up the Jungfrau, to UNESCO heritage Bern, etc.

Our nearest neighbour is Europe's largest lama farm (over 300 lamas and Acapulcos), and a bit further on is a Western Riding Ranch. Whether you are mountain biking, walking, skiing or relaxing - staying in Halteweidli is a complete antidote to city stress.

Why can't I call Jane (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jane (the owner) a message.

If Jane (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
