Still untouched by the tourism experienced on the Costas, the province ofJaen in rural Andalucía is a true reflection of the 'Real Spain'. A holiday in Rural Andalucía is to be experienced and enjoyed whether it's a relaxing and recharging break or something a little more cultural and active – rural Andalucía has it all! The area is a paradise for walking, cycling, painting, photography, birdwatching or a place to just to relax and read a book. For the more extreme sport enthusiasts, the Sierra Nevada ski slopes are 90 minutes away as is the coast for the beach and water sports. There are a number of natural parks and lakes that you can visit too!

El Granero at Casa Moya is located in a small Spanish farming village surrounded by olive groves within the Granada, Cordoba and Seville triangle. Although situated in the countryside we are only 10 mins from the civilisation of our local historic architectural town Alcala la Real that offers all the amenities you need during your stay with us. The town is home to La Fortaleza de la Mota a historical fortress dating back to 727 AD that has seen many battles during its history and well worth a visit as well as the many historical buildings that all have a story to tell. After soaking up the cultural atmosphere, there is an abundance of bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy Spanish cuisine at its very best or try the 'tapas' available at the many bars in town.

El Granero offers our discerning guests a charming 2 bed, 2 bath tastefully furnished self catering cottage where couples, friends or single travellers can enjoy a high level of comfort and a child free environment. We provide everything you may need to make your stay with us enjoyable including Egyptian cotton linens and towels as well as pool towels, guest robes and toiletries. No need to pack a hairdryer, we provide those too. Free wifi, tv and fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to make your stay with us easy and feeling like home. For our guests convenience, we provide a welcome pack on arrival to tide you over until you wish to shop for provisions.

'El Granero' has it own furnished private terrace and covered terraceffor dining and relaxing. Guests can also enjoy the scented garden stocked with aromatic plants and flowers attracting bees and butterflies. The pergola offers a seating area with shade from the sun and beautiful vistas of the local sierras.

The saltwater Swimming Pool is available for the sole use of our guests and is open from May to the end of September averaging temperatures of 26C, the perfect place to relax and have relief from the heat of the day. Finished in rustic style using natural stone, it blends seamlessly into the landscape and positioned to take in the fabulous vista whilst floating gently in the sun warmed water. With easy access down steps and a water depth of 1.2 metres, it is a safe and perfect way to cool down from the day's activities or for respite from the summer sun.

The pool terrace is furnished with sunbeds and umbrellas and dining set with access to the summer kitchen complete with gas BBQ and running water and also features a shower room for convenience.

The countryside has low light pollution which means you can experience the most amazing starry nights and it is a perfect place for stargazers and astronomers.

We are wildlife friendly and you may be lucky and get to see and hear cicadas, geckos, lizards, snakes, all sorts of spiders, carpenter bees, mammoth wasps, dragonflies, honey and bumble bees, birds, bats, foxes, wild boar and birds of prey. There is something for everyone at our cottage in the campo.❤️

N.B Although we are embracing and encouraging all to reduce carbon debt, unfortunately we are unable to facilitate the charging of Electric Vehicles at Casa Moya. However, the nearest charging point is at Lidl supermarket only 10 minutes from Casa Moya.

Interaction with guest

As your hosts, we will be available to greet you and give you the tour of El Granero. We will respect your privacy during your stay with us, however we will be on hand to give you any local knowledge if needed. We are dog lovers and have 2 elderly small terriers that we rescued 12 years ago from our neighbour whilst living in France. We are also fostering 2 spanish dogs that were abandoned locally. They are very friendly but will be refrained from interacting with you unless you wish to meet them.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Beverley (the owner) a message.

If Beverley (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
