House rules

1. CHILDREN: Babies and children are very welcome however, unfortunately the cottage is not suitable for young children from crawling age to 5+ years. This is due to the cottage's original Victorian stair spindles being far enough apart for a small child to fit through. We look forward to remodelling the staircase in the near future so that children of all ages can enjoy the cottage.
2. GUEST ROOM BEDS: Please note that the two single beds on the guest bedroom are small singles 190L x75W x35H cm

“Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2017

We had a great couple of days in this beautiful cottage. So well presented with everything that is needed for a very comfortable stay. Many thanks for the welcome gift which was a lovely touch. The location is fantastic for the beach and high street. The booking process was very easy with any questions answered very promptly. I would certainly try and stay here again if we return to Aldeburgh.

Dear Nicky, Thank you so much for your lovely words about the cottage. It was such a pleasure to have you to stay. We would be delighted if you wished to stay at the cottage again in the future. We look forward to it. All our best wishes, Sophie and Harry

“The Chocolate Box - Aldeburgh”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2017

First of all I would like to say what a pleasurable experience it was to stay in Aldeburgh, especially in the Chocolate Box cottage. Upon arrival we were made to feel most welcome with the lovely gift which Sophie had left for us, this was supported by the small touches which contributed to what can only be described as a fantastic long weekend break. Looking back there was an element of drama as literally 5 minutes on arrival we were handed a notice which indicated that we may be evacuated due to the expected high tide which was due later in the evening, this never materialised but it did mean a brisk walk along the front at 00:30 to see how high the water actually came. This by no means spoilt what was a very enjoyable weekend! The Chocolate Box itself is a quaint cottage with excellent facilities, the town is literally a 5 minute walk where you can find everything you need for your stay. Going out during the day or evening the local amenities are excellent, highly recommend The Lighthouse restaurant which offers excellent food in a welcoming environment – you may need to book in advance. Overall, I would recommend a stay in The Chocolate Box at Aldeburgh be it for a short or long break as I cannot fault the experience!

Dear Craig, A belated thank you for your wonderful review of The Chocolate-Box. I'm very pleased your survived the flood warning with good humour and am over the moon that you enjoyed your dinner at The Lighthouse Restaurant for your two specials occasions. We hope you visit again soon. All our very best wishes until then, Sophie and Harry
