The Lemon Tree is a beautiful, four-bedroom, detached villa with a private, child-friendly pool, just five minutes walk from all of Almyrida's charming amenities. Down a private track and on a complex with five other villas, The Lemon Tree offers the perfect, family-friendly villa from which to enjoy Western Crete and all of its beauty.

Downstairs, the double master bedroom opens up onto a private terrace overlooking the pool and there is easy access to the downstairs bathroom, as well as a fully stocked open-plan kitchen/diner. Upstairs is a newly renovated double bedroom and brand new bathroom, alongside two twin bedrooms perfect for kids. There is air-conditioning throughout the villa, and outside there are plenty of games and toys to enjoy in and out of the pool. A manicured garden surrounds the villa with an ancient Lemon Tree, preserved from the farm that once sat here, as its centrepiece. There are two outdoor terraces from which to enjoy a BBQ and sunset views over the White Mountains. Relax on the sunbeds on the garden patio, or take the five-minute stroll down to Almyrida and enjoy the long beach and shallow waters. There is ample parking available at the Lemon Tree but a car isn’t always necessary to stay in Almyrida, there is everything you might need within walking distance.

Almyrida is one of western Crete`s most sought-after villages, just a 30-minute drive from Chania but a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The charming waterfront plays host to an array of traditional Tavernas and bars, and the crescent-shaped beach is dotted with umbrellas and sunbeds. Kayaks and sailing boats can also be hired from the water sports centre in the village. Take a boat trip around the coast and discover caves and secluded beaches, or watch the day go by sipping on a cocktail at the rooftop bar of the Almyrida Beach Hotel. Also reachable by an easy walk or short drive are the charming villages of Plaka and Gavalahori, with more traditional Tavernas and old Cretan villas.

When you fancy a venture further afield, many of Western Crete`s most beautiful attractions are within easy reach. The city of Chania is one of Europe`s last hidden gems and just a thirty-minute drive away. With its stunning Venetian harbour and mosaic of colourful neighbourhoods, you`ll never tire of strolling the crooked lanes and discovering a new magical corner of the former capital of Crete. Take part in a day`s hike of the inimitable Samaria Gorge, Europe`s second longest gorge, a tour for which leaves from Alymrida. Admire the magical beaches of Balos and Elafonisi, both a 90-minute drive from the villa, or spend the day at Lake Kournas, a beautiful mountain-shadowed, fresh-water lake just thirty minutes away. Or if you want to learn about the Cretan culture from the inside out, take part in the brilliant cooking class at Vamos.

    If Susan (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
