Description from owner

A newly renovated holiday, which consists of three bedrooms, 2 with king size beds, 1 room with a double bed and a single bunk bed above it. Further rooms include a family bathroom with bath and shower facilities, spacious lounge with television and audio equipment (CD Player & I-phone docking station).

A kitchen /dining room with fantastic views, with an oven, a hob, fridge freezer, a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave oven, and a full set of all necessary implements for a family holiday.

The property is in a pleasant part of this historic market town, with views of a park at the front, and only 150 yards from the famous Alnwick Castle.

A short walk gets you into town where there are several good restaurants, pubs, bistros, cafes and coffee shops, along with supermarkets and shops for basic needs.

Car parking is on the road, opposite the house on both sides, and immediately outside the house on the right hand side. There is generally no problem getting parked next to the cottage for 1 or 2 cars, although at busy times it can mean parking a little further up the road.

A short drive to the outskirts of town finds the local leisure centre with swimming pool. In the same area you will find a large Sainsbury`s Supermarket.

Alnwick Castle is a very imposing and historic building where scenes from the Harry Potter films were taken and tour facilities are available. Also the castle gardens are now internationally famous and well worth a visit as is the Treehouse Bistro/Restaurant in the castle grounds.

The glorious Northumberland coastline can be reached easily starting with the beautiful town of Alnmouth four miles away. The other star visits are Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnel, Craster, Low Newton and Lindisfarne are also within easy reach.

Going inland the marvellous Cragside Estate built by Lord Armstrong and now managed by the National Trust is a must, and the nearby picturesque village of Rothbury is also recommended.

If you like shopping Newcastle upon Tyne is 30 miles South which is a shopaholics paradise! Morpeth the County Town of Northumberland is 18 miles from Alnwick with some very interesting shops and restaurants. With Edinburgh being 90 miles away, or an hour on the train.

A haven for families, old and young ( and of course including the dogs!), for a relaxing break, with much to do and see for those looking for a more active break. The local walks whether it is along the coast or inland are plentiful with great scenery. The beaches are clean and idyllic - great for a paddle, walk or a full blown swim and sunbathing ( weather depending!).

Great for keen golfers - with a number of local courses ready to be tried, along the coast.

Railway enthusiasts will find interesting finds at the ever growing Alnmouth and Alnwick new local preserved railway

Very Good

“Lovely cottage”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2017

Superb location in Alnwick, less than 5 mins walk to Castle and Town Centre. Accommodation is excellent, really well equipped and comfortably hosting 6 adults. Nice touch with biscuits and wine provided by the owners at arrival. Definitely a positive experience and would recommend.

“Great location, lovely facilities, very homely”

We would definitely return and recommend to anyone else. A stone's throw from Alnwick Castle and central for all the lovely beaches and countryside around. We had a fabulous time.

“A truly fabulous cottage in a wonderful location”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2016

We had a great weekend (17-20th June) with our 3 grandchildren aged 9-14. What a fabulous cottage set in a central location just a few yards from Alnwick Castle and close to all amenities. Debbie and Adrian have thought of everything to make it home from home, spotlessly clean, beds are comfortable, kitchen has everything required and there's even items needed for young families ( safety gates etc). Wifi was excellent. We visited The castle and gardens, local beaches, coastal villages, Barters Books and the local market and shops. We had wonderful meals at the local Mumbi Flavours Indian Restaurant And the Di Sopra Italian Restaurant, both excellent! Would love to return some day and can highly recommend it. ,
