Elegant 5*Gold Visit England Victorian property in central Ambleside.

Sleeps 10 (+2 on sofa bed in Snug. There is an additional charge for use of the Snug as a 6th bedroom).

5 bedrooms (2 king four poster beds, 1 double, 1 twin, 1 super king/twin).

4 bathrooms and 1 downstairs WC.

3 bedrooms have ensuite facilities, the twin and double bedrooms share the master bathroom.

Garden, panoramic views, hot tub & parking for up to 5 cars.

Full Sky and BT Sport packages.

Fibre optic wi-fi.

200m level walk to central Ambleside.

Sorry no smoking or pets.

Short breaks available at certain times of year (minimum 3 night stay)

Friday is the normal changeover day

If you require the use of cots or high chairs please let us know at least 6 weeks prior to arrival. Please note that cot bedding is NOT provided.

Unless notified 6 weeks prior to arrival the super king bedroom will be set up as a super king rather than as two twin beds. (The property already has a twin bedroom but the super king bedroom can be made into a second twin bedroom.)

There is an additional charge for use of the Snug as a sixth bedroom. This is to cover housekeeping costs.

Whenever possible we try to be on hand to greet guests but 4-6 weeks prior to arrival we contact guests and provide them with additional information including the key safe code so they can let themselves into Bracken Howe. This is especially useful if guests arrive late in the evening . On the hall table there are folders containing numerous contact numbers in case guests experience a difficulty.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send JANET (the owner) a message.

If JANET (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
