Description

On the picturesque ancient Buiksloterdijk in Amsterdam North is our spacious apartment of 80m2 (860 sq.ft.). It is an oasis of peace and yet only 10 minutes by bike or 15 minutes by bus and metro to Amsterdam Central Station or Dam Square.

The view is beautiful. Overlooking the North Holland Canal. Known cycling and walking routes through rural North Holland and Waterland go directly past our house. Walking distance just 15 minutes to the new EYE Film Museum on the river IJ. By bike it is 7 minutes to the FREE ferry which brings you to the Central Station (2 minutes). The ferry runs day and night every 5/10 minutes. In front of the house is the Noorderpark and its indoor/outdoor swimming pool (50m).

Parking is cheap right in front of the house €13/day; the bus stop to metro station NOORDERPARK is a few minutes walking from the house. Busses run every 5 minutes.

To the metro station it is 2 minutes, from there to Dam Square is 4 minutes.

By car you drive through the IJ tunnel in 5 minutes to reach the center of town (Waterlooplein) with ample parking garages.

Amsterdam North is the new buzzing district for art, film and specialty restaurants, such as the IJkantine, Stork or Hotel de Goudfazant.

On the front is the living room, with lovely views over a canal. There are two separate bedrooms with a king size real bed of 1.80m x2.00m.One bed can be separated into two single beds. At the rear is a balcony. This is the place were you are allowed to smoke. There is a well-equipped kitchenette with an induction cooker and all necessary equipment. There is also a large bathroom with bath and separate shower.

The recently renovated appartemement features free Wi-Fi and a 42'' flatscreen television with dvd player.

This is a top location for Amsterdam. You are in the buzzing city within minutes and yet you are in a place with a rural feel. Where you hear birds sing in the morning and a have views overlooking parks both in the back and in the front. First Floor Apartment is unique!

Getting around

The bus st-p is at 350m. Busses run every 5 minutes. Travel time to the city is about 10-15 minutes. Walking to the center is easy. Just follow the bicycle path in front of the house till the end and you are at the free ferry to the city. It is 2 minutes to get accross the river. Ferry´s run 24/7 every 5 minutes. An Uber taxi to the city is around €12. You could also walk to the metro station 10-15 minutes.

Interaction with guest

We are always available for questions and tips but in general we give our guest privacy by not disturbing them too much. All the facilities are private, so is the entrance.

“tranquil spacious apartment”

The apartment was very spacious and had everything you could need Renee was an excellent host with a wealth of information.... We are frequent visitors to Amsterdam and its the first time we have not stayed in the city centre but it wont be the last as I would highly recommend this to anyone... Our time there passed far too quickly.

How do damage deposits work?

If René (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
