Here, at Bela Natureza we believe in the gentle healing power of nature and animals. We welcome you to stay with us to recharge your batteries, and harmonize with nature and our family of dogs. Our dream is that more and more people come to know this powerful and unique love for the good of our planet and everything in it!

This small oasis, nature retreat Bela Natureza, is about 35 minutes walk to the charming seaside village of Arembepe which hosts the successful marine turtle conservation space Projeto TAMAR, about an hour drive away from the culturally-rich city of Salvador da Bahia, and a half-hour drive from international airport of Salvador.

The area of the retreat Bela Natureza is large with many old trees offering nice shade and a chance to cool down. It provides guests with countless opportunities to roam around, be at one with nature, collect mangoes, meditate, and even do yoga or light sports. Here, we offer rental of two little ecological earth lodges and a double suite, named according to the native singing birds: Sabiá, Bem-Te-Vi, and Curió. Each is constructed in a traditional Native Brazilian adobe style from local materials and topped with a handsome thatched roof. The lodges are equipped with modern facilities and internet access, making them suitable for those wishing to engage in creative pursuits such as taking a sabbatical, writing or painting.

Sabiá is a mezzanine-style lodge with the sleeping area accessible by a sturdy and short, knurled wooden ladder. On the lower floor there is a cozy living room with a hammock, where a mattress can be added, if required.

Sabiá is equipped with a private bathroom, desk, storage space, and a double bed which will comfortably accommodate two people. It is perfectly balanced with modern amenities and a warm shower. It is ideal for those looking to work remotely in a relaxing environment, with wifi available throughout, and plenty of accessible sockets within.

For all our guests, we prepare and offer complimentary continental breakfast with tasty regional goodies and tropical fruit. Moreover all guests are welcome to use the refreshment area and all common areas of the retreat, such as the swimming pool, meditation pavilion or hammocks amongst the mango trees. You will have the use of these spaces for most of the day, however, the holistic center occasionally runs healing courses or eco-workshops at which times some of them will be occupied.

Free parking is available at the property for our guests. Please let us know, if you are arriving by car.

Our guests will have the unique opportunity to interact with our many friendly and healthy dogs. The dogs are a great source of affection, relaxation and healing. They are an integral part of the retreat, and we hope that guests will be happy to spend time with them. We’re sure their doggy bliss will rub off on you!

We would like to ensure a completely stress-free stay for the guests. The retreat area is vast, and being here feels like visiting a natural park with friendly dogs, mango trees, wild flowers, and pineapple plants. Sometimes you could spot little monkeys called “miquinhos”, and other small lively creatures. Guests will be able to feel comfortable and at ease, as the large natural area is only shared with our small team and a few other guests (up to 6 people).

The external refreshment area is surrounded by nature, and equipped with a microwave, a traditional clay oven, and a coffeemaker. A well-maintained swimming pool provides a soothing feel on a warm day. Guests have a private entrance to the property, and the cabin can be securely locked.

We run our nature retreat Bela Natureza along principles of environmental preservation, positive energetic balance, reuse and recycling. We kindly will ask our guests to respect this.

Our space welcomes kids as well; it is suitable for children from 6 years on, if they are familiar with dogs and like them. Our family of dogs is very sweet and friendly to our guests, but they have their natural territorial instinct, therefore, we are not able to invite guest with pets.

It is possible to arrange airport pick up for the guests, if they arrive during daytime, for an additional fee. This may be discussed with us directly. Also, guests can take an official taxi from the international airport of Salvador (guests can buy the ticket inside the airport building, which costs about 160 RS).

We would like to let you know more about the option of having a guided tour to the historic city of Salvador da Bahia, or to many places of interest further up the coast such as Praia do Forte, Imbassai, Mangue Seco, and other interesting beaches, rivers and natural reserves, as well to Chapada Diamantina.

Why can't I call Evelyn (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Evelyn (the owner) a message.

If Evelyn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
