This is a small but modern Dwell-style 3 bedroom custom-designed home in the shell of a quaint Craftsman cottage unique to downtown Athens, Georgia & the UGA area. We are just a block or two from restaurants, nightclubs, the UGA campus & all of downtown.

I'm Nelson Wells, music industry publicist, based in Athens. I built this modern cottage as my home & a place of solace for my twin daughters & me. You'll see it's an ideal modern build in classic cottage style just 3-blocks walk to downtown Athens, Georgia, and UGA & sleeps 6-7 comfortably. 16-foot ceilings welcome you to the large open-format living & dining area w/ all stainless, slate, hardwoods, fireplace, wifi & flatscreen. I created a comfy, homey cottage that's also a modern fortress. Come stay and enjoy.

The Space

Our home has been vetted by traveling worldwide touring acts as well as screen actors guild members who demand the very best in privacy, security, comfort and detail.

You can expect the very best of in-town custom quality with fine attention to detail. According to some of our guests, our "home is left cleaner than most hotel rooms" for only the most discerning travel guests.

As you can see this home is designed with an eye for modern and minimalist detail yet with cozy bedrooms and living areas and also in a quaint Historic neighborhood just steps away from downtown Athens (literally 3 blocks walk) & the campus of The University of Georgia (UGA), as well as the Medical School Of Georgia..

9 restaurants are within a 2 block walk. Bars & coffee shops abound also, of course.

The master has a mission style antique queen and a large walk-in closet. French doors also lead to a private back coffee deck for two, while many large windows provide lots of sunlight. The roomy all-stone master bath has a double vanity, 2 stone showers, a tub, toilet and a bidet.

Guest bedroom 2 has a twin trundle bed which you can roll out for two twin beds, as well as a baby crib for little ones, and a shared bath with bedroom 2.

Guest bedroom 3 has a modern sleek Crate & Barrel queen bed, lots of light and shares a jack-n-jill bathroom with bedroom 1.

We can sleep 6 and only 6 in these two queen beds and 2 twins, plus one or two infants or toddlers maximum. You may inquire about an agreement in writing for parties larger than 6 if they are infants or toddlers.

We have a WALK SCORE of 89! (at the walk score website), which means EVERYTHING you could need is within walking distance from this charming edge-of-downtown neighborhood including 85+ pubs, restaurants, & coffee shops. Gift shops, Bike trails, mapped distance-cycling loops, 5k & 10k run courses, jogging trails, bicycling neighborhoods, the Historic district of BLVD, the tour of homes routes, The State of Georgia Botanical Gardens, bird watching trails of Sandy Creek Nature center, the beach & swimming & fishing lake at Sandy Creek Park and their frisbee golf course, the public pool at Bishop park, 3 top golf courses, the walking tour of Athens Music History.

Athens is also home to the unrivaled restaurants of "James Beard-Award"-nominated chef Hugh Acheson (also a judge on TV's "Top Chef") The Five & Ten, Seabear Oyster Bar, The National, award winning supper club (called Shotgun Dinners) (also James Beard Award nominees!), and one of the most recognized favorite restaurants in downtown, The Last Resort Grill. - ALL are right here within a short walk or 5 minute drive.

We also have one giant grass side yard to play all the games you could want to in. Like soccer, frisbee or kickball? We have a frisbee, a hammock, soccer ball, volleyball, and more, but you'll need your own kickball.

The cotton hammock is the best place to wind down your day.

How do damage deposits work?

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
