From the owner

Privately situated in its own grounds with superb views across the valley, this lovely converted barn provides the perfect opportunity for your French countryside holiday. It has a very large lounge, with beams to the ceiling, a lovely log burner and stairs leading to the bedrooms. An additional sitting room off the lounge, leads to the family bathroom. There is a large kitchen with log burner, and this has stairs leading to the some of the bedrooms. The master bedroom with ensuite is situated at the end of the house with access from the lounge.

Outside, there is a gite, which is a double room, but can easily accommodate more beds if needed. It also has a washing basin. This is a perfect room for a couple or small family that are holidaying with others. There is an area outside the main house with a bistro set, perfect for a quiet coffee during the morning. There is also a lovely old tree giving plenty of shade from the heat.

Outside there is a fabulous shaded area(converted barn), perfect for getting out of the sun or al fresco eating. The newly built 10m x 5m heated swimming pool and terracing, is ideally situated to give you a full view of the valley and surrounding countryside. There are extensive grounds (1 acre) with a number of fruit trees and a lovely area above the house, which backs onto woodland.

We are close to the market town of Chalais and one of the most beautiful villages in France, Auberterre Sur Dronne. The river Dronne and local lakes are great for fishing and bathing. In summer both Aubeterre and nearby St Aulaye create riverside beaches with restaurants and river swimming. You may hire canoes and paddle down the rivers having great fun for all the family! Furthermore, you are able to walk and cycle straight from the property.

There WiFi is limited as it is a rural area. There is an amount of data which guests can use, but it is not really suitable for streaming.

If you require the pool to be heated, then there maybe an additional charge. However in summer the pool will not need to be heated as the pool temperature will be between 22 and 28 degrees.

The pool will be open from June to September. If you would like it opening out of season, there will be an additional charge.

How do damage deposits work?
