The area is Rethymnon (Axos), Milopotamos Valley, Ida Mountains also known as the Unesco Psiloritis Geopark. This is real Crete and you are among the real Cretans!
Villa Olga and Villa Yorgos with a perfect view on the Psiloritis, highest mountain of Crete (2456m). Both have free WIFI, a mutual swimming pool, a mutual BBQ, a nice sports field (football, basketball and badminton for example) and a very old Chapel from 1750. Also ideal for children. Silence, no traffic, a lot of flowers and animals. What else do you need?
Situated near Axos, a typical Cretan village with a historical centre and a natural water wellspring. The inhabitants are very hospitable and Axos has 7 Byzantine churches over a 1000 years old. Also nearby are authentic villages as Livadia, Zoniana, Kalyvos and the Diskouri Monastery.
In the immediate surroundings are the beautiful caves of Melidoni (Gerontospilos) and Zoniana (Sendoni). The old Monoan palace Knossos (Heraklion) is not far away. You can make lovely walks into the Ida Mountains and enjoy real nature, Hiking trails, olive groves, shepherds, ancient churches and more monasteries (as Vossakos and Arkadi),
The kitchen and local wine are famous. Here you can live the healthy Cretan life yourself. In 15 minutes by car you can reach Anogia and see local heroes (Partisans), tapestry and the Nida Plateau (birthplace of Zeus). Also visit the Skinakas Observatory here.
Around the villas you can spot owles, bats, swallows and hawks. But also goats and sheep, On our property you will find olive trees, grapes and a lot of different fruit trees.
Restaurants/tavernes, shops, medical assistance (Anogia, Perama) are nearby. Bathplaces as Panormo and Bali about a 35 minutes drive. You should visit Margarites (Ceramics), Georioupolis (Kournas sweetwater lake), Episkopi (old Olive factory) and Eleftherna (Arkadi, archaeology).
