Due south of Clarke Bay you will find Ballito's Tidal Pool built on Ballito Point in between the rocks. Here you should have a very reinvigorating dip as fresh sea water flows into the pool on each high tide. You will also notice a variety of small fish while swimming in the pool. (Caution should be taken when there is heavy surf action).

Ballito Point at times has a good left break for the surfers into Salmon Bay.

“STUNNING HOUSE IN A FABULOUS LOCATION”

Reviewed 10 Nov 2015

We stayed at Indlwana on arrival in South Africa and again after travelling north to Phinda Rock Game Lodge, Rhino Ridge and Kwalucia Safari Retreat in St. Lucia, all within easy reach. It was a wonderful place to rest and relax following our long flights from the UK and again afterwards to recover following our busy itinerary, including those early morning game drives. Terry and Paul were on hand to help us to arrange restaurants, trips, etc. which was very useful. Housekeeper Phyllis was delightful and the consistent standard of cleanliness is a credit to her. The house is stunning, very comfortable and relaxing. Every amenity has been thought of. Wi Fi is available at an extra cost. Indlwana is situated in a quiet but easily accessible area of Simbithi where security is outstanding. Accommodation is excellent, all of the rooms are spacious. BBQ on the terrace, large outside dining area and chairs to relax overlooking a pleasant garden and trees. A lap swimming pool on the side of the house which is very welcome after a day in the African sunshine. Simbithi has a Country Club and a few choice shops and a recently opened Spa. The Club is a place to go to enjoy the surroundings of the Estate and here the food and wine is excellent and very reasonable. Brunch shouldn't be missed! The recently opened Spa is owned by Michelle and the treatments are superb and much needed. We spent four hours in there on Day One following our journey from the UK and again on our return to Indlwana following our game drives. The view across to the Indian Ocean from the Spa is superb and binoculars are provided for whale watching. Simbithi is very near to the Dolphin Coast and Ballito where we found a good choice of Restaurants. Although we ate mostly fish and seafood, both excellent, there was also a great choice of meats to be eaten. The Chef of Eat Local took great pleasure in bringing out all the cuts available to us when we ate there. The beach is so great there too so there's plenty of opportunity to walk off the calories along the boardwalk. We found the South African food and wine to be irresistible! We liked best the relaxation to be found at Indlwana and the variety of things to do in the surrounding areas. What we liked least was leaving and we hope to return again very soon.

Thank you Carol for the great review. Terry

“I want to return to this beautiful, luxurious, home, tastefully furnished, in an idyllic setting.”

What's not to like about this place? - with its spacious, very well appointed interior and masses of outside space, perfect swimming pool and garden with wildlife outside the bedroom window. Its location within an eco estate gives a feeling of living in the bush, whilst not being very far from all amenities, several good restaurants and a gorgeous walk through the estate to the beach. privacy without isolation - perfection! My hosts were attentive, well informed and excellent company. Efficient maid service. Liked best: All the above Liked least: Having to leave

Thank you Christine for your lovely comments. We hope you will visit us again soon. Terry O'Connor

“An African Jewel”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2015

Firstly, our stay here was part of a larger itinerary spanning a 2 week adventure in South Africa. A bespoke itinerary had been created a year ago with Paul and Terry of South African secrets, the owners of this amazing home. Having spent time in game reserves and the Drakensberg mountains our 2 nights here just added to the amazing experiences we had had so far. It has a fantastic location within the gated estate which has many amenities including club house, shops and a 10 minute walk to the beach. A 15 minute drive gets you to top class sea front restaurants such as Flamma and approx 20 minutes to King Shaka International airport. But the Jewel is the house itself and the welcome provided by Terry and Paul. 4 en suite rooms downstairs have direct garden access and provide comfort and privacy on a 5 star level. Upstairs you have a complete deck area with 13m long pool overlooking the garden and the forest canopy. The open plan dining room and kitchen provide you with all the facilities you could need. In a luxury holiday of a lifetime our 2 nights here added their own special touch.

What a great review CasperUk. I hope you will come and visit again soon. Terry O'Connor
