Built to withstand attack from warring clans in the 16th century, with 3ft thick walls, flagstones, oak beams, stone roof with rare wrestler ridge of interlocking stones and walled courtyard.

Now brought up to date for 21st century living with underfloor heating, wood burning stove, luxury bathroom with power shower, well equipped kitchen, smart TV and good Wifi.

Situated in a small, pretty village with St Cuthbert's church and its ancient

Yew trees in the churchyard.

Lots of rural walks from the door, Allen Banks, River South Tyne, Hadrian's

Wall near by and we are dog friendly too
