Three bedroomed country house - Farchynys Hall is a historic house set in lovely landscaped gardens with views of mountains, river and sea. This charming retreat offers superb accommodation in the wing of a Victorian Manor House.

Your hosts, Mike and Gretta, would like to extend a very warm Welsh welcome, and invite you to spend a few days of relaxation in an area of astounding beauty. Farchynys Hall is a self-contained unit within the main house sleeping up to six persons.

Guest Access

Enter this historic house through an oak studded door surrounded by colourful hydrangeas in summer. The arched entrance hall leads into a spacious open plan living area with a comfy pair of sofas, coffee table, and television; and with a kitchen/dining area at the other end

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. Also situated on the ground floor is a games room with a dart board, and pool table (50p).

A football field can also be found in the garden for any little football fans up for a kick around.

A Victorian pitch pine staircase leads up from the hallway to the first floor. On this floor there is a delightful double bedroom with exquisite pine furniture and a vanity unit. Also on the first floor is a spacious bathroom with wc, hand basin, deep full-size bath and separate shower en suite.

The stairway then rises to the second floor where there are two further large bedrooms. One is a bright and colourful double room and the other, a charming twin bedded room; both littered with attractive pitch-pine furniture.

The house normally sleeps 6 people but additional child's futon and baby cot can be provided at an extra cost on request.

The Neighbourhood

Farchynys Hall sits on the banks of the Mawddach estuary and in the shadow of the Cader Idris mountain range. As you explore the network of paths and glades around Farchynys Hall you will be intrigued by the magical views.

The surrounding area offers some of the finest walking and sightseeing in Britain. Farchynys is to be found in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, one mile west of the village of Bontddu on the A496 Dolgellau to Barmouth road.

Farchynys Hall is surrounded by lovely walks and sights, from castles, waterfalls and activity sports to longer hikes up the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon.

Getting Around

Buses are available at the bottom of our driveway, and trains run regularly from Barmouth (5 miles)

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Michael (the owner) a message.

If Michael (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
