Further details outdoors
Walnut Cottage faces due south and is exceptionally sunny, being located in one of the sunniest parts of Britain. The cottage is set in over an acre of typical English garden which is mostly lawn with mature trees and flower beds. It is surrounded by fields, orchards and farm land on a quiet country lane which is a dead end, meaning it has virtually no traffic except tractors heading to the fields at the end of the lane. There are views of the countryside all around and especially stunning are the views of Glastonbury Tor, which is easily seen from the neighbouring fields.
The Somerset countryside is generously interspersed with well marked Public Footpaths, the closest of which runs along the far end of the property.
There is a large patio area outside the kitchen door. A barbecue and outdoor furniture is provided and guests have enjoyed sitting outside from April to October and beyond as the front of the cottage is sun trap. The fields close by the cottage are home to chickens, sheep, cows, horses and a friendly donkey. There is an abundance of local wildlife around, including foxes, rabbits, deer and badgers which can often be seen, especially in the early mornings or evenings.
New in 2022, we now have an electric car charger ready for guests to plug in their electric vehicles.
