“Friendly, great location and stunning property”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2019

Katie, you and your property have been simply amazing! Thank you!!! Katie is incredibly helpful and made the trip so easy to organise. We were visiting friends and family but needed our own space to stay that was both toddler and dog friendly. It felt like a true holiday, a home away from home, but such a luxury! There is a fantastic amount of space to play and relax in. An absolutely stunning location and the property has been designed to an incredibly high standard. Beautifully presented. Everything is so clean and well thought through - soft towels, a super comfortable bed, robes, flip flops, a great selection of basics food and toiletries, great smelling products and even a 500 piece puzzle if you fancy a challenge. Who would have thought that even with a toddler and dog we could experience five star self-catering accommodation, relaxation and a faultless service.

“Perfect Weekend Retreat”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2018

I booked this as it was a little weekend getaway for my wife and I was looking for somewhere close to Bath with good public transport links, near good places to eat, that accepted dogs and had a hot tub! (not much to ask ) When I looked at Street View on Google it looks a bit odd, don't be put off, the Barn is set slightly back from the rest of the road and isn't your run of the mill house! The owners Kate and Andrew are lovely people, we were made to feel very welcome, and the flat was ready for our arrival and was very clean and tidy. It is well appointed and a welcome pack of various items were provided including butter, jam, tea, coffee, bread, eggs. This was most welcome as it meant we did not have to venture out immediately for supplies. There is also a Nespresso machine for use which was nice as this is what we use at home, I wish I had bought some of my favourite pods with me! There are obviously supermarkets nearby including Waitrose, Lidl and M&S. We found Lidl was quite easy to get to and there is a pets at home on the same retail area. It’s important to understand that you are sharing a space which is someone’s home and so you are going to come across each other from time to time. The flat is completely self-contained although joined to the main house at one end, we did not experience any noise at all and felt as if we had complete privacy at all times. The hot tub is available for use and is just across from the flat (robes and sandals are provided). The garden is large and wraps all the way around the main house, there is a walkway to the fields at the top of the property where you can see some stunning sunsets, its also great for dog walking. There is a pub nearby which is walking distance (The Hare & Hounds) we were hoping to go there for dinner, however be aware that it is VERY popular and so book early to avoid disappointment. We couldn’t get a table and so we went to the Old Crown in Kelston (2.5 miles away), it was lovely and the food was superb. There is also a bus stop outside the Hare and Hounds pub which takes you into Bath, the buses run regularly until around 8pm when they change to about every 30 mins, we did try to get into town on the bus however they seemed to be running late and then they did arrive they were full and so didn’t stop! We went back and got the car. Parking in Bath as ever is limited and can be a bit of a pain so if you can, take the bus or an Uber. Overall this is a lovely property, it has been finished to a very high standard and looks amazing, clearly a lot of love and attention has been paid to all the details even the lighting at night around the property has been well considered. Thanks Kate, we may well be back again soon. Warm Regards, The Days.

Response from the owner Thank you so very much Dan for your in-depth heartfelt review! How lovely! We would love to welcome you back at The Barn sometime in th future All the best Kate & Family

“The perfect weekend break !!!”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2018

The owners were so welcoming and helpful and can't thank them enough for their hospitality! The location is amazing for country walks, which was great for our dog - he had the best time :) Will definitely be coming back, the barn is so beautiful and not being a driver the pub being a two minute walk away was ideal

“Lovely place”

Reviewed 10 May 2018

I loved staying here, me and my boyfriend came for my birthday and it was absolutly lovely, the place is so nice and relaxing. And the extra touches were lovely. The only thing i would say is, there could be a private garden area just for the lodge.. but I would love to return here and explore Bath more. Its in an ideal location and Kate was very welcoming!

“Great break”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2018

Lovely weekend, great place to stay. Brilliant location, stones throw from the pub which has a great view. We also caught the bus into town, buses run every 8 mins. Owners are friendly and welcoming, lovely touches of a welcoming basket of food and a stocked cupboard for all of the things you would need. As well as a bathroom supply basket for anything you may have forgotten. Decor in the flat is beautiful. The flat is attached to the main house so we could hear a few things at times. Use of the brilliant hot tub was great. Thanks Kate and Andy x

Response from the owner Thank you so much Jo - lovely to hear and hope we see you both sometime again! Kate
