From the owner

Studio St Jean is in a 400 year old building in the heart of Bayeux's historic quarter. It is a one roomed studio with a comfortable king size (160x200) bed, a settee, TV/DVD/free wifi, a dining table and chairs and a kitchen area with a 2 ring electric hob, microwave/oven and a fridge. There is a shower room/WC. The apartment was refurbished over the winter of 2022/23 and can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and is easily accessible on the ground floor, overlooking a quiet courtyard and is accessed from the main street by a security door. The street is a pedestrian only zone during July and August but there is plenty of parking less than 150 metres from the apartment. Studio St Jean is perfectly located for a short vacation in Bayeux, being less than a 5 minute walk from the famous UNESCO listed tapestry and the magnificent medieval cathedral. Meeting points for D-Day tours and shuttle buses to Mont St Michel are only a 2 minute walk and whilst the railway station is only a 10-15 minute walk or an 8 euro taxi ride. On the street outside the apartment you will find plenty of bars, restaurants and cafés to fit all price brackets and tastes, a small supermarket and the tourist office. A pretty river runs through the centre of Bayeux, just 100 metres from the apartment with a charming waterwheel, bedecked in flowers during the summer months.

We ask guests to arrive before 7pm as we do not live in Bayeux and need to be present to allow guests access to the apartment.

A charge will be made for towels that are used to remove makeup as it is impossible to get the stains out to a high enough standard for a letting property. These charges will be 10 euros per small towel and 20 euros per large towel

I’m sorry this guest was so disappointed with the bed that despite by their own words in other reviews everything else, including location and the personal seevice they received from us were excellent, they have chosen to leave several reviews wherever they could deriding the comfort of their stay. In response all I can say is that whilst I deeply regret that they found the bed so uncomfortable, so many other excellent reviews on the comfort of the studio just goes to prove that it’s not possible to please all the people all of the time. In addition, as they have pointed out themselves, they prefer something larger than a double bed I don’t know why they booked in the first place when our details clearly state rhat the bed is a standard double; perhaps because within the price range it is almost impossible to find a king size bed, which are mainly only available in the 4 and 5 star hotels in Bayeux that charge 3x as much per night.

It's a shame this guest was not happy with our apartment, unlike the majority our visitors. He has already written a review on another site to which I have responded so feel there is nothing further to add, other than we do not state that the apartment has English TV, this is only achievable via satellite which is not allowed on an ancient and historic building.

How do damage deposits work?

If Sally (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
