Broom House Farm also offers an action packed family day out along the nature trail with exciting woodland challenges and obstacles from flying along zip wires, daring to enter the tunnels and climbing up towers! Beamish also offers horse riding.

The city of Durham itself, with its lovely cathedral, river walks and cobbled streets should not be missed. For cricket fans, Durham County Cricket Club’s ground, ’The Riverside’, is a short drive away at Chester-le-Street.

Beamish also has easy access to the A1, which will take you further north to  Alnwick and the Northumberland Heritage Coast, where a day can be spent exploring the many historic castles and friendly villages set amongst unspoilt golden sandy beaches. Not too far away is the Metro Centre - one of the largest shopping centres in Europe with an abundance of shops and eateries.
