Get back to those simple pleasures in our cabin, which is located in a beautiful, quiet country setting far from the chaos of modern life in the heart of the Berkshire Mountains. The cabin is just a five minute walk to a lake where you can swim, fish or canoe (canoe and life jackets provided). Or spend the day exploring the many surrounding towns with antiques, restaurants and shopping galore. Other activities nearby include: hiking, horseback riding, Tanglewood, children's arts programming, The Mount (Edith Wharton's home), Arrowhead (Herman Melville's home) Jacob's Pillow Dance, outlet shopping, summer stock theater, Shakespeare and Company, Berkshire Museum, Clark Museum of Art, Eric Carle Museum, Heartwood School and Becket Arts Center among many, many others. A Real Let Down - Not Clean

We are mortified to hear of the problems you had during your stay. From what you say, it seems that the house was inadvertently not cleaned and the yard not mowed before your arrival. We will definitely look into why that happened and rectify any errors in communication with our caretaker. If I had known about your issues while you were there, we would have done our best to rectify the situation right away. I would also have told you where the canoe was, and called the internet provider to fix the wifi, which normally works fine and is not slow. Our listing makes clear that the second bedroom is bunkbeds and that the sofa in the main room can be pulled out into a queen bed. Because the house is only 640 square feet, the listing also describes the property as sleeping 2-4. The listing does not claim that the has a water view, and clearly states that it is a five minute walk to the lake, which is true. We will immediately look into the noises you heard in the loft and your difficulties with the washer/dryer, which normally works very well. In the meantime, I welcome you to contact me directly so we can discuss resolution of this matter further.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Djuna (the owner) a message.

If Djuna (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
