Nestled against Mont Ventoux is the village of Bedoin, France. Our house, La Maison Rose, is the perfect base for travelers exploring this beautiful region of Provence. Here, one can sample world-class wines, take in fields of lavender and sunflowers, shop in open-air markets, enjoy outdoor activities such as bicycling, swimming, camping and hiking, or simply explore the countless medieval villages in the area.
Ideally located, the house offers privacy and convenience--just step out the door and you are a one-minute walk from the village center. Although Bedoin is a small village, there is a complete range of shops, including cafes, antique stores, bakeries, a butcher shop, grocery markets, even a beauty salon and spa. It is the perfect place to unwind and experience French village living at its best. Sleep with your windows open and wake to church bells and the smell of freshly baking bread.
Nearby are the towns of Vaison la Romaine, Carpentras and Avignon with its museums and upscale boutiques. And the beautiful Cote d’Azur is only two hours away by car.
The house is comprised of four levels, each finished with lovely traditional color washes and tasteful furnishings. The street level consists of the parking garage and entry. Stairs lead up to the living floors. The first floor is the kitchen, dining area, a small powder room and a salon with a lovely balcony, ideal for breakfast or an evening glass of wine.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher. The dining area seats four and is expandable to six. There is also a fireplace/grill. The salon has a sofa and two chairs. Here you will also find the television/VCR, fax/phone and assorted reading materials. The sofa expands to form a bed should you require additional sleeping capacity.
On the second floor are the bedroom, bath and laundry. The bedroom contains a queen-sized bed, as well as a day-bed for an afternoon nap or for use by a child. Included are extra towels and linen, an iron, hairdryer, washer/dryer, portable phone and other day-to-day items intended to make you feel at home.
Finally, the top floor is a rooftop terrace with a teak table and chairs, parasol and a barbecue. It is perfect for a romantic dinner outside, and offers views of Mont Ventoux and the village church.
