Mountain Escape Cabin is near Southern California’s premier ski resort, Bear Mountain and Snow Valley ski resort. It offers 12 lifts and 34 trails with the longest being 2 miles. Just 23 miles away is Snow Valley, another local ski resort. Big Bear Lake offers fishing, swimming, and all water sports. There are dozens of hiking trails through the pine and oak forests. There are several boating, fishing, dirt bike and ski events held in the area because of the excellent weather. Big Bear Valley has over 300 days of sunshine and because of this there is a solar observatory on the lake. Big Bear is well known for its restaurants, cozy lodges, and quaint shops. There is an airport if you want to fly in for the weekend.

Just to be clear. I knewthis guest was going to be trouble from the day he booked. He called countless times on the day of check in asking if he could check in early. Mind you it was 4-5 hours early. He kept saying he was driving by the house and it looked empty and therefore he was going to check in. I did advise him there is early check in fee be aside I do have to make sure my clea just crew had everything ready for them befor check in. EVERYTIME and I mean EVERYTIME he called which I answered and handled the "problem". There was food in the refridgerator? Yes, you there are condiments and of the previous guest left condiments I have no control. I did advise him to feel free and throw away any unwanted food in my fridge, which no way can fit 5 bags of food?! Propane for the deck grill.. I provide two tanks but you are responsible I filling them if they are out of gas.. This guest considered lint on one of the sheets dirty. He considered a couple dead flies In The garage window a problem. The master bathroom window blinds were taken down from previous guest because they were broken by accident. I don't have any neighbors in front of the house and the side neighbors cannot see thru that window. Again all of my reviews reflect my home exactly expect this one. Warning if you rent to the client you will have lots of unneeded art complaining. We are renting our home away from home. it's not a 5 star resort. I treat all my guest with respect and honesty but I feel that this guest made all these complaints just to get money back. The ONE situation from he septic was fixed within hat hour and that was the only complaint I was made aware of. Not until 2 weeks after checking out did I get a long list of "complaints". I take pride in all of my reviews and I saddens me that this guest has ulterior motives.

Why can't I call Cynthia (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Cynthia (the owner) a message.

If Cynthia (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
