Situated in a quiet street, the property is ideal for a getaway break and a sightseeing base. Only a short walk from local amenities and the picturesque village of Dunkeld this holiday home is in an ideal location.

The historic villages of Birnam and Dunkeld are connected with the old bridge over the River Tay and offer visitors, who love the outdoors and country pursuits, an area of Perthshire rich in places to visit and explore. Locally, there is the medieval Dunkeld Cathedral with its peaceful riverside garden, the Beatrix Potter Gardens and Museum for children, riverside walks and interesting little shops, galleries and cafes in the historic town of Dunkeld. There is a range of marked riverside and forestry walks in this beautiful area of Perthshire and various tracks for cycling. There is a wealth of activities to choose from including fishing, clay pigeon shooting, 4 x 4 off road driving and gorge crossing for the more adventurous! There is a swimming pool available within walking distance of the property and in the winter, both skiing and snowboarding is accessible at Glenshee, around an hour’s drive from Birnam and Dunkeld.

As well as offering a delicious lunch at The Birnam Institute the attractive little theatre hosts well known musical entertainers from all over the world. There is also a good selection of pubs and restaurants to choose from in the area.

Accommodation:

This newly refurbished apartment is on the ground floor of a 2 storey row of Victorian stone built terraced houses. As you enter the front door there is a small entrance hall for coats and walking boots. The cosy living room has wooden floors, 2 comfortable leather sofas, a flat screen television for your entertainment and a selection of books and DVDs. From the lounge is a small hallway which leads into a bedroom with a zip-link superking bed which can be converted easily into 2 twin beds. The room is comfortable and quiet and overlooks the garden to the rear of the property. The compact dining kitchen is well equipped and offers cooking facilities as well as a fridge and freezer and washing machine. The bathroom offers a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.

What’s included:

The price includes heating, electric, bed linen and bath and hand towel per guest. One small well behaved dog is welcome by arrangement.

The property has a manager who is available (only 5 miles away) if you require assistance.

The property is only 10 minutes away from Birnam railway station so a car is not essential.

For golf lovers, Perthshire has a multitude of courses including our own Dunkeld golf course which is right on the doorstep, Pitlochry, Rosemount and Gleneagles. St Andrews is an hour away.

Birnam is a small village which leads in to the historical village of Dunkeld. Situated just off the A9 in Perthshire, it is a perfect spot for all that Perthshire has to offer, with plenty of walks including the Hermitage which is just a 5 minute drive. The famous Birnam Oak is less than a 10 minute walk from the property and there are plenty of eating places and a local shop close by.

The apartment sits on a street which is tucked away just behind the main street of Birnam. It is very quiet and peaceful and you can see the local hills when you walk out the front door. All local facilities are just a 5 minute walk away.
