“Bliss on the shore”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2017

The Pebbles is the last unit in a row house in Blairmore Village on the shores of Loch Long on the Cowal peninsula. The views of the loch are lovely - and there is always something to see! For the fisherman in the family, it is a short walk to the village pier - privately owned, lovingly restored, and open to the public. Sammy the seal is often in attendance - and has a reputation for filching the angler's catch! The PS Waverly stops in at the pier on Tuesday afternoons, and a trip up the loch is well worth the undertaking. There is lots to do on the shore itself: with the Adventure Center and Quadmania a shot car ride up the loch in Ardentinny; and the Benmore Botanic Garden, Puck's Glen, not to mention the walks on the high road, each provide lovely vistas to enjoy. The house itself is well organized, and comfortable. As one visitor noted in the Guest Book - it is a home away from home. I had my 89 year old mother in tow. She could negotiate the stairs, but there is a "moving chair" for those who need an assist on the stairs. Janet, the owner, made sure that we were comfortable. We most definitely plan on being back!
