Conveniently located only 6 miles to the town of Spruce Pine, 3 miles to Penland School of Crafts, 36 miles to Blowing Rock, and 49 miles to Asheville. We offer Dish TV, Wifi, A/C, wood-burning stove are pet-friendly and we have the BEST guaranteed VIEWS in the area.
OUR VIEWS are out of this world!!!!...our property overlooks the Black and Unicoi Mountain ranges. On a clear day, you can even see Mount Mitchell the highest point east of the Mississippi River. In the winter when the leaves drop, the view opens to a full 180 degrees from Mt. Mitchell to Roan Mountain. Enjoy your coffee in the morning on our 800 sq ft of porch/deck overlooking the fog blanketed valley below, and your cocktails in the evenings watching a spectacular mountain sunsets or cozy up to the woodstove with a good book and enjoy the sounds of rain on the tin roof. UNIQUE: Designed and built by an award-winning architect and resident artist from nearby Penland School, the house is a blend of both modern and traditional cabin-style architecture with an artistic touch throughout. Handmade ceramic sinks by local artists and other unique elements of creativity are unexpected treats.
LAYOUT: This home features 1400 SF of living space with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, loft, balcony plus 800 sq ft of covered porches with hemlock log columns, and handcrafted stonework. Pine hardwood floors and ceilings thru out with vaulted ceilings in the living room and loft areas. The master bedroom upstairs has a king bed, private bathroom, and its own private deck. Also upstairs is the loft with a pullout futon and game table with games, puzzles, and books supplied for guest use. The main floor has the guest bedroom with a queen bed, desk and bathroom, and a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area adjacent to the living room with TV and cozy wood stove. Pets are considered with pet fee which is comparable to nightly vet boarding rates. Please send us details about any pets you would like to bring (size and breed) and review our downloadable pet policy (instructions below)
Children are welcome however we don't recommend Hawks View for toddler age child. Please message us to discuss if you have younger children you would like to bring.
We may require longer stays than the minimum nights listed if you are booking more than 2 months in advance. We also reserve the right to book and accept reservations as they work with openings in our calendar.
Your initial booking quote is subject to change as additional guests, pets, discounts, and special rates may not be included in the initial quote
