From the owner

An original 1830's crofter's cottage that has been completely renovated to provide a calm and peaceful retreat in the surrounding rugged landscape of the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Situated beside Camustianavaig Bay on the Isle of Skye, the house enjoys a rural location, yet is only five miles from Portree. The space is decorated in a soft minimal style and offers a tranquil Highland hideaway for up to two people.

The LIVING ROOM has a wood burning stove, small sofa, table and chairs. There is a bluetooth portable speaker and a small collection of maps and books on the local area, recipe and design books. Please note there is no TV, but the broadband is fast.

The BEDROOM has a king size bed and cotton bedding. There are spare pillows, bedding and a hairdryer. We supply bath and hand towels. There is a shower in the bathroom, but no bath.

The KITCHEN is well-equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven, hob, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and food blender.

Other things to note:

There is WIFI in the house that has recently been upgraded. Mobile reception is limited, but you can usually get a signal in the kitchen.

We don’t supply WOOD for the wood burning stove, but you can pick some up from the Co-op or garage in either Broadford or Portree.

The five mile road to Camustianavaig is a single track (tarmac) road.

Fabulous, restful, small cottage

Very comfortable, clean and perfectly secluded for these 2 weary travelers. The cottage is well situated for exploring more of Isle of Skye. Sarah was very communicative and helpful.

Why can't I call Sarah (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Sarah (the owner) a message.

If Sarah (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
