From the owner

We would like to invite you to stay in our elegant Georgian manor house, located in the very heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Situated in the beautiful Llangorse Lake Valley and surrounded by some of the best walking country in the United Kingdom, Tall John's House is an ideal retreat.

We are blessed to have lovely countryside and dramatic natural scenery on our doorstep. For anyone who enjoys walking, cycling, golf, horse-riding, fishing or other outdoor country pursuits, a visit here will feel like a trip to paradise! We also have a table-tennis table and sauna facility. If you are a less energetic person, you can relax in front of our open log fires or play billiards in our snooker room.

We are delighted to offer you your own exclusive and private manor house, decorated and furnished to a high standard with antique furniture and beautiful paintings. The property is an ideal choice for family gatherings, shooting breaks, business retreats, celebrations and get-togethers. Our charming and efficient staff will be on hand to help you enjoy your stay. We are easily accessible from the Midlands, London and the west country.

This is not a self-catering property. Breakfast is included in the rental and further meals are available on request for an extra cost.

The elegant reception rooms include a large traditional entrance hall with a wood burner, a wonderful Georgian drawing room with its high ceiling, bay windows, delicately carved cornices, chandelier and log fire, a book-lined library with billiard table, a generous bay-windowed dining room that seats 16 people in comfort, a delightful cosy sitting-room with coal fire, SkyPlus TV and DVDs. There is also a cloakroom downstairs and a useful boothole for coats, boots and dirty dogs. There is oil-fired central heating throughout and lashings of hot water.

In the main house there are three Manor bedrooms which are elegant, light and spacious with large Georgian windows and all the character of the period. They have been renovated to a high standard and each have their own large and well-equipped bathroom. Two of these have superking beds that can be split to make twins and the third has a king size bed. There is a further double and single in the main house, both with their own bathrooms. Just across the lawn in the old stables there are a further two King beds that can be split for twins and 1 double bedroom and three singles all with their own bath or shower rooms. All bedrooms are provided with plenty of large, fluffy towels, hair-dryers and a range of soaps, shampoos and shower gels.

There is wi-fi connection throughout, a beautiful walled garden and large lawns, a sauna and a table-tennis table.

There is ample parking.

We charge £1200 a night for 2 or more nights and £1600 for one night stays for up to 16 people including breakfast.

Individual rooms can be booked at £140 per room per night for a manor room, £120 a night for a standard double and £90 for a single, including breakfast.
