Description

Casa Las Fayas is a tastefully renovated tradition Canarian cottage standing in a mature private patio garden surrounded by green countryside.

It is centrally located in the Brenas region of La Palma on the hillside above the charming capital Santa Cruz, giving it easy access to most other regions of the island.

It is a rustic cottage several centuries old. It has thick limewashed walls, traditional wooden roofs and pale flagstone floors throughout including the terrace. It was further updated in Dec 2018 towards its purpose as a comfortable holiday house but with every effort made to preserve its special feel of vernacular Canarian architecture.

The accommodation is arranged around large bright open plan living areas which all open onto the large partially paved terrace garden which has a large table for outside dining, sunloungers, and a small pool.

The main livingroom is large, has two sofas, a wood burning stove for the evenings in winter (January and February), and a flat screen tv, DVD, radio etc.

There is a second similarly large conservatory livingroom with views into the garden, with ample cane sofas and a dining table.

Leading off the conservatory there is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom.

It is located down a peaceful country lane with a few other houses in the area. There is a horse riding stables and many gentle walks in the vicinity of the house. There is a good local supermarket 600 mtrs away and several larger ones on the way down to Santa Cruz.

Casa Las Fayas will suit individuals or couples who would like an independent house and garden in a country setting not far from the main cultural centre of the island. The visitor will be sent road directions and arrival details shortly before their holiday. The English and Spanish speaking owner will visit on the first evening to welcome guests and talk about things to do on the Island, and is on hand throughout the stay to resolve any problems that might arise.

House rules

Guests may choose to use electric heating and will be charged at 15 cents per Kwh payable on departure, over and above an allowance of 100 Kwh per week, which would normally be more than sufficient to cover all cooking, lighting and water heating needs. Meter readings will be provided on a welcome note on arrival and can be checked at any point in an enclave in the wall close to the main gate.

Casa maravillosa, bien ubicada. Por poner una pega, falta wifi, un poco humeda, pero basicamente es por el propio clima de la isla. El propietario muy amable.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send M.b. (the owner) a message.

If M.b. (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
