Our guest room is ideally suited to couples looking for a private, romantic retreat or a short break in the Loire Valley as part of a longer vacation. It is equally popular with gîte guests seeking additional or separate accommodation for grand-parents or friends. Please contact us for options combining gîte and guest room accommodation.

This is more than a simple Bed and Breakfast room, as our reviews will tell you. Many of our gîte guests have returned to enjoy our guest room for a few nights when passing through the Loire Valley.

Our aim was to provide a ‘semi’ self-catering suite where guests could enjoy the all the benefits of a French Chambre d’Hôtes service, together with facilities to cater a light meal of local delicacies and keep delicious Loire wines perfectly chilled for an evening apéritif.

The room is spacious, bright and beautifully appointed with elegant wood panelling, antique style furnishings and pale, quality linens, all in keeping with our lovingly restored 18th Century estate. To ensure that guests are as comfortable as possible, we have provided a king size bed with high quality linens and bedside tables with reading lamps. A cosy sofa makes for an easy way to relax after a day’s sight seeing with a selection of magazines and books to entertain and keep you informed of local places of interest and events.

The en-suite shower room is stylish with quality fittings and high quality towels as well as items that you might not wish to carry with you, such as a hair dryer and complimentary hand and shower wash. There are plenty of hanging hooks and shelf space for your toiletry items too.

Set in the courtyard garden and overlooking the upper grounds, the room is nestled beside a wonderfully fragrant wisteria and lavenders and has an outdoor terrace for al-fresco breakfast and apéritifs in the sunshine.


Breakfast can be taken in your room or outside on your garden terrace. We bring breakfast to you, comprising a selection of fresh local bread and croissants, home made or local preserves, our own or local fruit in season and choice of fresh filter coffee, tea and fruit juice.

For lunchtime and evening meals, you can’t better many of our local restaurants offering regional cuisine as well as wonderful Loire fish dishes. Our village café-bar offers great value lunchtime menus as well as ‘take home’ meals.

Getting around

This area of rural France is absolutely beautiful, however, we do recommend a car as the ideal mode of transport to enjoy your holiday to the full in the Loire Valley. There is public transport locally: Bus to our local town, Saumur and Angers (limited timetable). Train from local station (about 10 mins away by car/taxi) to Saumur, Angers, Tours, Nantes. High Speed trains from Angers and Tours to the coast and Paris. Taxis - available locally (reservation in recommended).

Interaction with guest

We live on site and therefore can provide a discreet personal approach where desired, such as greeting you on arrival and answer any questions about our holiday accommodation. We are happy to provide advice during your stay on the local area, activities in the Loire Valley, shopping, restaurants and great places to buy local products and wine. As fluent french speakers, we are on hand to help with any reservations for dining or activities or should you need a medical service during your stay.

How do damage deposits work?

If Lisa (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
